Good morning. I asked my husband if he had today off for the holiday (Cyber Monday). He didn’t really think that was funny. It was tough getting back into the swing of things today. To my US friends, I hope you had a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday with your families. I know holidays can be so tough but I hopefully it was filled with special moments of joy. We certainly loved the slower pace and savored the time with Riley home from school. Here is a quick recap with our Monday wrap up.
GATHERING
We finished our basement space a day or two before Thanksgiving. And because it isn’t furnished, it was a fun space to host 25 for dinner. I will share more of the photos and details soon, but it just felt so special to have a full house. I wish we could rewind and do it all again. And it’s safe to say we spent the entire day after in our pajamas.
DECKING THE HALLS
Our trees have been naked up until now so I am slowly getting them decorated. This tree is one we had in California and I keep thinking it will give out one of these years. It’s a slim tree (which was great for the space we originally bought it for) but would love a wider one in here. I can’t justify replacing it. Have you watched this? Man on the Inside is a fantastic show. It’s sweet and funny . . . love when you actually laugh out loud. Ted Danson is fantastic in this. And a word of warning – if Alzheimer’s has touched your life you will cry. So much came flooding back. But I really want to commend the writers. Its is very evident that whoever had a hand in this show, has walked the path with someone. It made me feel like others get it. So many things we could relate to. Highly recommend.

What would be your advice to someone just getting into decorating with an artificial tree after years and years of doing the real thing?
Suggestions for a first time purchase, whether going pre-lit is the way to go, and if wrapping with your own lights, what’s the best method you have found to light your trees?
