Well, I know it’s not Monday . . but there is a good reason why this post is going up late. A couple of days before Christmas, my laptop died. When it’s the tool you use to create everything for the blog and newsletter, it’s a major issue. I had already planned to take a break and be fully present with the family so the timing was not terrible. But it feels great to be up and running and I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas celebration with your loved ones. And as you embark on the new year, I hope you are able to take some time for yourself. Here is a recap of our last few days with our Monday Morning Wrap Up.
A WINTER ESCAPE
We had such a nice Christmas with a full house. Spent time with friends and then headed out to Florida the day after. We timed the drive so that we could pull into 30A and still catch the sunset. It felt like such a gift.
SAVORING THESE MOMENTS
I loved spending so much time with our teens . . . without any distractions. I just love these ages so much. They are such kind, intelligent and funny humans. These trips aren’t without bickering and typical sibling button pushing . . .but that’s all part of it. And I’ll take every ounce of it. Some of you started reading this blog when this boy was just two years old! Hard to believe he is now almost 6’2″ and a young man.
SEASIDE
Our townhome is ten minutes from Seaside. If you are not familiar with 30A it’s a road that runs along the Emerald Coast in Florida with darling towns along the way. The post office is so cute during this time of the year. We enjoyed strolling through the streets, walking along the beach and having lunch.
ALYS BEACH
Another great spot is Raw & Juicy in Alys Beach (5 minutes from where we stay). The best ingredients and a wonderful menu. They also have a really cute playground which is nice for parents. This is where we head to grab smoothies before we road trip back. So yummy!
MY GIRL
Love this girl. It’s been so nice having her home from college. She has already grown up so much. It’s amazing what living on your own will do. And I am sharing her favorite Christmas gift below. Taking the golf cart to the beach is our favorite thing to do (the kids love taking the bikes, too). This girl would live at the beach if she could.
*If you would like to book a stay, we would love to have you. When you book directly, it saves the higher fees.
JEANS ON SALE
Just a heads up that these jeans are on sale. I have them in two colors and LOVE them. Flattering and comfortable. The sweater is no longer sold but I will look for a similar one.
I snapped this before meeting up with my dear friend, Vanessa. She is a doll and I am so very lucky to have her in my life.
AFFORDABLE ARTWORK
I also hung these two pieces in the master bedroom and think they are so pretty. This is the larger piece and the smaller piece can be found here. Our favorite blanket is a great Target find.
A FAVORITE GIFT
This was Riley’s favorite Christmas gift. She sat at the island and put it together for over four hours. It’s the cutest thing ever. They are called BookNooks so this one is sitting in our library. You can’t believe the detail on it. It even lights up. Highly recommend for any teen or adult who loves to work on projects.
HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE
We’ve got out New Year’s decor out and ready to celebrate as a family before everyone runs off in different directions. Just made these cookies, too (so easy). However you are ringing in the new year, please know how much I appreciate you being here. Sending you so much love for a really wonderful and healthy year ahead. Cheers to a life well loved.
