Good morning. I spent the last couple of days under the weather so it’s nice to be feeling like I am on the upswing. Like everyone, it’s been a tough balance to enjoy life while others are suffering. I remember when my mom was battling Alzheimer’s I was constantly reminded that joy and pain always coexist. I often think of it as the two hands coming together to pray. One representing the struggle and one representing the jubilation. We did enjoy a winter wonderland this past weekend and it was a great reminder of just how beautiful this world can be.
WINTER WONDERLAND
The snow was truly stunning. We were snowed in for one of the days and the kids loved sledding with friends. The next day, we did a nice hour long drive just to appreciate the snow everywhere. We have blue skies now and the snow is melting but it sure was a treat.
DECK VIEWS
We keep our white lights up through the winter and this is why! I just love the glow in the evenings. My table lamp can be found here.
PLATTER VS. SALAD BOWL
I shared on stories that we made the switch from a large salad bowl to a large platter because then the good stuff doesn’t get lost in the bottom of the bowl. We often do a large salad (and add grilled chicken or steak) and too often the bowl has the yummy stuff left on the bottom. This solves that problem. So many of you responded that you wanted to try that out so it was worth posting here, too. And this is one of my favorite platters.
EASY BEER BREAD
While the snow was coming down, I made this twice. It’s just so yummy. I follow the easy 5 ingredient recipe and sprinkle sea salt on top. Scrumptious and you probably have all of the ingredients on hand.
COZY LOOK FOR LESS
With this cold weather, I’ve been loving this cute sherpa jacket. It reminds me so much of this high end version. And for the teen girls, this one is adorable. All of my daughter’s friends have it in the lime color. So pretty in person and looks like Free People.
I live in these no-show socks, by the way. Love how comfortable they are and won’t slip off the heel. Currently on sales so I am stocking up (for Riley, too).
ANOTHER FAVORITE
I love chatting with you all in DMs and a few of you have reached out to tell me your daughter’s loved the other two piece set Riley recommended. When I told her that, she said, “Mom, they should know about this one, too, because you don’t see it as much.” She loves it. The legs definitely have a 70s vibe so be mindful of that. She loves wearing it.
FOR THE MOMS
And while our teens are looking great, here is something fun for us. I think it’s so pretty and classic. I have a lot to fill you in on with regards to my closet. More on that soon but I am really wanting to stick to timeless choices. I think this is beautiful. *Update: just found it here on sale!!!!
I hope this Monday finds you feeling calm and settled. And if so, savor that feeling. Wishing you a really great start to your week. Thank you for being here.
