Good morning! Do your kids have off today? We woke up to pretty blue skies but chilly temperatures. Snow is on the way which I’m good with. I think it’s just supposed to be an inch or two. Just enough to paint everything white. We have a really busy week coming up so hoping to stay on track with the to-do list. Here is a quick recap of life lately with the Monday Morning Wrap Up.
NEW SPOT IN 12 SOUTH
One of the things we fell in love with when moving to Nashville area all of the unique and charming restaurants. This one is located in the 12 South area. Wonderful part of town with great shopping and places to eat. If you are headed this way, put it on your must see list.
Friends of our introduced us to The Henry and I love it! Fantastic atmosphere and really delicious food. Highly recommend if you are visiting. In fact, I need to add it to my Nashville Recommendation Guide. The Seared Tun Chop Salad and the Harvest Bowl are both scrumptious.
DON’T MISS OUT
Do not pass this sale up. This is our all time favorite blanket for the end of the bed. It has a really nice weigh to it so you can either use it as decor or as a blanket for warmth. It is usually $60 but is now $34! Order the full/queen (seen here) because it works well on both a queen and a king. On a king, it drapes fits perfectly end to end. My color is “natural” but there are others available. We love it so much we put it in both king rooms of the 30A Florida house. It really does look like a high end Pottery Barn blanket for a fraction of the cost.
GETTING CREATIVE
I’ve had so many questions since sharing this creative standing desk hack. We happen to have these ottomans in our family room and I stack them when I walk. So easy to move and I can have my water, remote, phone and reading glasses nearby. I really didn’t want to purchase a standing desk since I keep my walking pad in our family room. When we entertain I roll it to the laundry room.
Many of you asked if the walking pad is easy to move. It’s quite heavy but has wheels in the front. It’s not hard to move but I wouldn’t want to have to go far with it. I also would not lift it up and lean it anywhere. I hope this is helpful. I have been consistently walking on it for 40 minutes daily and it’s by far my favorite new habit. I started out walking 25 minutes but now love being on it for longer. I listen to a podcast or watch a mindless show (really the only time I watch tv) because it makes the time fly. We love to hike and walk outdoors but I still do this daily. It’s been a really great energy boost and has helped with the perimenopause tummy.
A FLASH BACK
A found these in a drawer and it was such a fun walk down memory lane. This was from a beautiful wedding in Napa with all of our college crew. Still the person I love to be silly with. So thankful for this man.
NEIGHBORHOOD SPOT
Sperry’s is a wonderful spot nearby. If you are familiar with Southern California, it reminds us so much of The Five Crowns. My family would go there on special occasions and this brings back so many memories. I am always drawn to the warm and traditional ambiance. Plus the service is top notch.
BIG PURCHASE
I’m so excited!!! We took some time figuring out sofas for the basement. More on that this week. I was going to buy this one locally but found a better price online. It’s very comfortable and the perfect dimensions. I LOVE the wood base on this and I am a single cushion girl when it comes to sofas. Wanted to share in case you are on the lookout.
Pro tip: look up the exact dimensions of any sofa you are looking at and tape it off on the floor with blue tape. It really helped us with this process and seeing how the furniture will fit/flow.
ALL THINGS NAUTICAL
I will always gravitate towards a preppy vibe and all things nautical are very in right now. A few fun finds:
- navy bomber jacket
- tote bag – darling in person
- sunglasses – such a good style
- striped top – I like the scalloped detail, very feminine
- gold earrings
- cropped denim – fantastic reviews
- loafers – sooooo cute and on major sale
- NY hat – I have this and love it, nice neutral
