I don’t know about you, but I am still buying graduation gifts over here. Feeling a tad behind but that’s okay. If you are in the same boat, these were Riley’s most loved graduation gifts so I hope they are helpful. We kept the list short and sweet because we wanted to include the most used items. I included items that are great for the many grad parties where you want to take a token gift as well as ideas for graduates you will gift something a bit more special.
GO-TO GRAD GIFTS

- slippers
- beis bag
- makeup bag
- monogrammed ring
- pearl earrings
- monogrammed towel wrap
- doorstop
- best fan ever
- foldable wagon
- sunglasses
SLIPPERS

Riley said these slippers are a must. If they are walking down the hall to visit friends, they don’t want to go barefoot and these are perfect.
My recon let me know Birkenstocks or ones that look like Birkes are what the boys wear instead of slippers.
BEIS BAG

Such a great bag. It’s been used many times and still looks great. Ideal for weekend trips home, if your graduate is close enough to drive. (This does not fit under a seat on the plane). I have this and LOVE it.

This one is great for the boys!
FLORAL MAKEUP BAG

This is a nice idea if you are gifting money and want to put it in something. Or this is great for the many graduation parties you are invited to where you just want to gift a little something. Riley adored this make up bag and got so much use out of it. It comes in many colors and patterns.

For the boys, this is a really great gift. Timeless. This Amazon one is a nice choice and great price.
MONOGRAMMED RING

This monogrammed ring is what I gifted Riley’s close group of girlfriends and it was a big hit. It’s the perfect size and something they can hold onto.
TOWEL WRAP

This was one of Riley’s favorite gifts. She used this towel wrap pretty much daily. And a nice way to personalize something.
DOOR STOP

Hear me out on this! A friend of ours gifted Riley a red doorstop (school colors) and it was used almost daily! I especially appreciated it during move out. Those dorm doors are heavy and automatically lock. The kids love to prop their doors open and I am all about that. In this day an age of everyone being on their phones, more doors need to be open so they can all meet each other. You could wrap this up in a cute bag with school colors.
This is great for those many graduation gifts you might need where you are spending $15-20. Or if you are gifting money this is nice to go along with it so there is still something tangible. A very useful gift.
PEARL EARRINGS

We actually gave these earrings to our daughter for her birthday but they make a really lovely graduation gift. So pretty in person.
THE BEST FAN EVER

Every student, boy or girl, needs this fan. It’s quiet, powerful and turns. Wonderful gift.
FOLDABLE WAGON

This is the thing Riley wish she had. I saw so many students with these during move out. Beyond convenient. And so great for the kids if they are brining up flats of water or anything else to the dorm room. My daughter was on the 6th floor and this would have come in handy so many times. It folds quite small and can tuck under the bed. I ran into at least five girls that said it was their favorite gift.
They also admitted they thought it was crazy when they received it . . .but quickly realized its value once they moved into their dorm.
SUNGLASSES

You can buy sunglasses in any price point. Attach a tag that says, “Your future is so bright . . .you’re going to need these.” Great for boys and girls.
Truth be told, all of my friends who have boys say they just use far less. You can’t go wrong with cash. The wagon, duffle, small toiletry bag, Birkes, doorstop, sunglasses and fan are solid ideas for either boys or girls.
I hope this short but sweet list is helpful. These really all added so much to Riley’s first year and were greatly appreciated. If you have any other ideas to share, feel free to add below.
*I recently shared ten things I want my son to know in this post.
Would love to see more ideas for boys! Other than cash of course!
Hi! So I chatted with my mom friends who have boys that graduated and they said a duffle, dopp kit, the fan, and cash. Each said that their boys liked receiving cash. So maybe wrap up with the door stop or something little?
Collapsible laundry baskets that can be stored under the bed when not in use. Add in a backpack-style laundry bag, packet of laundry pods, some hangers, maybe a clothes steamer. Really you can fill with anything, towels, various dorm needs, like a first aid kit, thermometer, command hooks, door stop. You can make it as elaborate or simple as you want.
