Can you believe it’s almost 2015? How did that happen? We are getting really excited to start fresh with a new year. It’s always so much fun celebrating with the children. We have been eating at the same Chinese restaurant for years and years. It’s a fun tradition followed up by a dance party in our play room. Crazy, I know! This year I thought it would be fun to kick off the morning with muffins and mimosas for the hubby and me. Since we do go out New Year’s Eve, why not make the morning feel a little bit hotel chic and bring a fun and festive breakfast into the room? You can easily create this setup in your kitchen or living room, too. And with orange juice for the kiddos it’s fun for everyone. Especially when they are served up in fancy glasses! As you know I am a part of the 12 Months of Martha team and we have so much fun crafting and creating projects. Sadly, this is the last one for the year. But it’s one of my very favorites. I was able to use the Martha Stewart Fringe Cutter {genius, by the way} and some of the really pretty ombre tissue paper. {Fringe Cutter video here} To create a festive New Year’s look in any color scheme, you just need a fun tassel garland, festive drinks and a fresh flower. That’s really all you need to make a little spot shine in your home. With the new fringe cutter {which has changed my life} this little tassel garland took me ten minutes to make. Not bad! I LOVE to keep things simple. It really doesn’t take much to make a space feel really special and beautiful. What are you doing to ring in the new year? Whatever it may be, I wish you all the merriest of celebrations. And may you be blessed in this new coming year. My motto as I round the corner into 2015 is “Simplify & Celebrate.” I think this will be a great start. Happy New Year! A big thank you to the editors of Martha Stewart Living for providing the supplies for this tassel garland and for sponsoring the #12MonthsofMartha program! Idea and opinions are mine. Always.

What a fun way for you and R and the kids to ring in the New Year! The last few years we've hosted a NY Eve dinner at our house but this year I just couldn't take it on. We're all going out for Chinese food and keeping it simple! Your photos are amazing Courtney. I love the tassel garland and yay you got your shoes! Mine arrived yesterday. Love them.

Because our kids are still young, it's difficult to go out for NYE but I really love the idea of making it special even in your home. I may just do this for myself and the hubby! Our yearly tradition includes making tons of dumplings with my parents and kids. We like to invite our neighbors to join in the dumpling making festivities. It's a wonderful korean tradition I hope to pass down to my kids. After we prepare them, we fry, steam or boil them in soup and they are divine! Happy New Year, Courtney! Thanks for always sharing!
