Hi, friends. A dear friend of mine {who threw the most amazing 1st birthday party last weekend}, asked how my week was going. For the first time in a very long time, I let her know it was going well. I don’t have a ton on my plate this week and the kids have been such a joy lately. But the reason I am telling you this is because up until this week, I have been a bit crazy. Ok, a lot crazy. All good things going on but far too much. To the point of panic. Sometimes I think I can take on the world. And then my laundry piles, frayed nerves and endless yawning remind me that I can not. This brings me to my next point. . . I am leaning to say no. It’s a powerful word and one that does not come easily to me. Even my dad is telling me I need to do this. How are you with the word, “no?” Do you use it very often? Do you want to use it more? I plan on chatting more about this soon, but in case you are needing a little nudge to say no to something so that you can say yes to yourself and your family, I am encouraging you to do so.
In style news, Nordstrom is hosting it’s half-yearly sale and there are some good bargains to be had. Just wanted to share some items that caught my eye. Many of the finds are 40% off.

I’ve had my eye on the green floral Kate Spade phone case forever and this sale price is pushing me over the edge. The darling scallop purse I have show before is 33% off.
And the necklace I have worn in many posts is now only $7. What?! That’s crazy.

Those bow blouses are so darling. I have had one very similar for over three years now and still receive compliments when I wear it.
These tanks are marked down to $16.90 and the sides are so so cute. I love anything that has that ruching on the sides. These are darling alone or under a white cardigan. Also cute with a maxi {from my travel unform} and this one is marked down to $20.
And I think I am most excited about this!!! This favorite dress of mine {seen here} and above in black, is marked down 40% in this color. They will go quickly. I have seen it in person and the blue is really pretty. I wear a size small.
And the white dress from Bora Bora is now $40. I wear a size medium in this dress. You can see all the dresses the are marked down to under $50 here. So many!

And I rounded up shoes that are all on sale and great prices. The booties may seem odd for summer, but you’ll love them come fall and they are a great price. Same with the cute loafers. Sometimes it pays to think ahead. And look at those black heels! WOW. Do you have any weddings or events coming up? They would be beautiful.
These cage sandals have been a favorite of mine. They are back this year with a slight change but they are some of the most comfy shoes I own and they are now 40% off.
These sandals are just so flattering on the foot and the gold is a really pretty detail. Nice neutral color for summer. Many of the Converse tennis shoes are also marked down.
If you’re looking for fun things for the men in your life or for children, they also have great deals going on during the Nordstrom half-early sale.
And don’t forget the Kate Spade private sale in case you need a new handbag or wallet. The sale prices are incredible and the bags or jewelry make really great gifts if you have a graduate in the family.

I have recently had to start saying no to things. I have had to lighten my load and that is ok. I ask myself “is this going to bring me joy?” if not, I let it go. If it is yes, I proceed.
Looking forward to the post on this one!
Have a beautiful day!!

It’s a pretty powerful word, isn’t it. Just so challenging to put into practice. Love the question you ask yourself. Smart!! Have a wonderful day, Janet.

Just have to share this great book about learning to say no. It’s called The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst. Thank you for all the work you do with your blog. It’s the BEST!

Oh I can’t wait to check it out! Thank you so much for sharing. You are speaking my language!!! xo

Not fair!! You can’t start a blog post about saying ‘no’ and then link to a purse I have been drooling over for months!!! I have a hard time saying no to all of your Nordstrom suggestions, they are always right up my alley.

LOL! Girl. . . I am saying no to responsibility and commitments. Not shopping. Ha!!!!! You’re so cute. I don’t want to be a bad influence though! xo

Saying no does not come easily for me either. I just had a conversation about this with a girlfriend the other night. The older I get I realize it is healthy and so important to be able to say no at times. I would worry that I was letting someone down or missing out on an opportunity by saying no but really I was letting myself down. The word no is a hard one, yes very powerful. Love the 1/2 yearly sale and love everything you’ve picked. I like the loafers…thinking ahead for Fall and those tank tops with the ruching are very cute.

Isn’t it crazy how it takes some growing up to learn these lessons. I, too, don’t want to let people down or miss out on something. I am really trying to be focused on doing that which brings the family joy. . . work in progress.
I love all of that ruching, too! And my preppy side has always loved a nice loafer. xo

Girl, I love that white Bora Bora dress on you! You have been busy, busy lately, but you do seem to always know when the time is right to pull back a little. And your sweet hubby is so good at giving you the nudge. Wishing you some peace and rest over there! 🙂

Thank you! It brings back great memories, too. Ryan is really good about realizing I’ve hit the wall. All a work in progress. Have a great week, love.

Love that white dress Courtney! You always look stunning 🙂 could i please ask what size you got? Do you think it would work with cowgirl boots? I’ve been looking for a cute spring/summer dress to go with them.
Courtney says
That would be DARLING! So cute with the handkerchief hem. I am wearing a medium in this! Hope that helps.

Such a great round-up and so many favorites! you look so cute in that black dress, I was so sad it didn’t work for my figure. 🙁 John gave me a book about setting boundaries a few years ago, and it’s taught me that sometimes saying no is really saying yes to myself and my family. have a great weekend, friend! Enjoy the no plans! 🙂
