Our Children’s Bathroom

May 5, 2011 by Courtney 16 Comments

My son and daughter share a bathroom. Enough said, right! They are both very young so thus far it’s been quite easy. I know we are in for an interesting time once they grow a bit older. My daughter’s room is pink and my son’s new room will be blue and lime green . . .so it seemed naturally to link the two with a pink and green bathroom. There are still some projects underway so I will just show you a sneak peak today.   IMG_1220 IMG_1222   It’s all coming together and I am especially excited about the artwork. Besides incorporating artwork made by the children, we also have some watercolor prints that my hubby and I brought back with us from a trip to London. They hold special meaning as we bought them with the intention of one day using them to decorate for the children we would hope to have!  IMG_1225 IMG_1226 There are still some projects in the works but will look forward to showing you the whole room soon. One of the projects on the to do list is a little something with this darling fabric from Serena and Lily. This Sprout/Melon Beach Stripe was only $3.60 a yard!!! It had been $40. Thanks to Danielle from Danielle Oakey Interiors who posted about it! I scooped it right up to incorporate in their bathroom. I couldn’t get past how perfect of a match it was and how yummy it looked.  Now that I have given you a sneak peak I am hoping it motivates me to finish up the last few projects! Hope you’re having a wonderful day. and happy birthday to my handsome husband! here’s to another happy and healthy year

Happy Birthday to your husband! Hope you have a wonderful day (:

Adorable bathroom touches! Love those colors together- good idea on combining the two colors of their bedrooms. My brother and I have always shared a bathroom and we're the same age apart as your kiddos…it's never really been a problem! Except for my "I don't like my brother" stage…which was just around age 10-12 (; We have a system now. And I have a vanity in my room so I have to do my makeup and hair in my room while he showers. There is hope, girl! (:

Happy Birthday to your hubby! Did your kids help you make him a birthday cake? I know your sweet daughter is quite the little party planner. Their bathroom sounds fun…love the colors and that fabric is delightful!

Don't worry about them sharing. I shared with my younger brother until I went to college, and then still shared with him whenever I was home. I honestly think a boy and girl sharing is way easier than 2 girls. I would much rather share a bathroom with my brother than my sister any day. It balances out because she will want to spend more time in there when she gets older, and he won't – less fighting over time.

Pink and green is a perfect combination! That striped fabric is so fab too. With the art, I was thinking it's already hard for me to remember me and my hubby before the baby:) but we weren't together that long before getting married and having him! It's great to have such a strong foundation and memories of couple time!
