This Christmas season has been about bright pops of color for us. We are pretty much decorated and now enjoying activities from our advent calendar. I always appreciate this time of year and how it really makes us focus on spending the evenings doing something special. Even it is something as simple as reading Christmas stories or baking cookies together. And boy oh boy does our Elf {Candy Cane} create angels this time of year. I am hearing, “Okay, Mommy!” so much more than I ever do during the rest of the year. Wishing our Elf on the Shelf were a permanent member of our family! So here is a peek at the brightly colored Christmas mantel. Because I went so bold with color, I chose to keep it as simple as I could. ……………………..merry mantel I lucked out and stumbled upon this Merry sign at Target. It really tied everything in together {I think it was $10}.
For the garland I gathered ornaments in the colors I was using and strung them in a pattern. Sort of! The larger snowflakes are from Home Depot and the small ones on the merry sign are from Target. Our stockings are hung in a new spot this year. More on that later.
The snowflakes are ornaments and I simply used the hot glue gun to attach three of them together. Then I attached them to the Merry sign with a tiny bit of glue.
In case you missed it, I posted about how to make the topiaries here. I made them both for the mantel.
This is such a different look for us. I normally gravitate towards more neutral and natural décor. Last year’s mantel was quite different. You can see that here {but excuse the dark photos. I am learning!}. I will be linking up with Michelle over at Ten June. Her blog is always packed with fantastic DIY projects and I am sure there will be beautiful mantels to check out.
