Personalized Drink Labels

November 22, 2010 by Courtney 21 Comments

I absolutely love entertaining. Two of my favorite things are ribbon and personalized anything. So this combines it all and takes VERY little time. Whether I am having just a couple of people over, or an entire houseful, I think it is really important to make your guests feel special. We have all seen the wine tags you can buy. They are super cute, but I am always too busy socializing to remember if I am the “heart” or the “flower” or whatever charm was placed around my drink. So instead, I like to print out each guests name and tie it with a ribbon. The nice thing is that you can use ribbon that goes with your color scheme. Here are some pink polka dot ribbons tied around martini glasses which would be great for a bridal shower or birthday party. IMG_8100IMG_8103IMG_8104IMG_8108 When I use the computer, I type all the names on one piece of paper and then cut them out. This font is Suzy’s Hand {which my friend Megan from Honey We’re Home  introduced me to. I love it. If you don’t want to fire up your computer, you can always hand write the guests names or use a calligraphy pen. I cut each strip about an inch and a half by a half  inch. Simply punch a hole and slip some cute ribbon through. IMG_8109                                                    I will be using this plaid ribbon for the holidays IMG_8113IMG_8114 I never toss little pieces of ribbon left over around the house. In fact I place them in a little glass near my stem ware. Inevitably, I end up using them when I entertain. Sometimes everyone has a different ribbon which is also fun. IMG_8120                           Use whatever goes with your entertaining style . . . twine is natural and simple. IMG_8123IMG_8125 Sometimes I tie the names on ahead of time and have the glasses waiting on a pretty tray. Other times I pile all of the names into a pretty glass and let guests tie their own. No matter what, it’s nice for your friends and family to know you were thinking of them. And it never hurts to have a couple of blank tags in case someone unexpected drops in. Such a great idea! I always forget my little symbol too! I love the picture of the green ribbon and apples. The font is perfect-thanks for the mention- but I didn't see my nametag- ha 🙂

Fabulous! I love that font, but don't have it on my computer 🙁 Personalizing even simple things like a drink tag adds such a nice touch!

What a great idea! I love your ribbons that you chose. I'm giving a bridal shower in the spring and think I am going to "borrow" your idea with the pink polka dots and that great font. Thanks for the inspiration!

Another brilliant and simple idea. Courtney you are certainly the hostess with most-ess. I have a tendency to forget which is my glass, so this idea is very practical to me. 🙂

I NEVER throw ribbon/scraps away lol. You can also use cardstock like I did at my wine and cheese party here:

I am going through this post and thinking of it’s theme and trying to understand what is this post about. At last I can have found something from this post which feels pretty good.
