Pretty Pumpkins

October 2, 2010 by Courtney 22 Comments

When the new Pottery Barn Kids catalog arrived, my four year old daughter actually took it and sat down with it on the couch {my husband already fears this trend}. She pointed out this picture and said, “Mommy, these are so cute. Do you think so?”

Pottery Barn Kids
And you know what? The girl’s got great taste because those are darling. I had just picked up some AMAZING pumpkins from The Dollar Tree. They have a strange seam around the middle of the pumpkin, so this couldn’t be more perfect. We trotted off to Michael’s and spent $4 for some cute Halloween inspired ribbon. Here they are outside near our front door.

These great pumpkins are actually foam so I just wrapped the ribbon around and secured it with a straight pin. I thought the white straight pins looked super cute so I used them to go every couple of inches around the black ribbon.

And here is a look at them inside.I think they would be great in any spot in the house for a little bit of color.

So thank you to Pottery Barn and my daughter for the fun inspiration. I am tempted to run off to the dollar store and grab ten more of these! Wouldn’t they be cute spray painted gold with some beautiful French ribbon. Spaced out on your dining room table or in a big basket and suddenly you have a gorgeous table scape for Thanksgiving.

Your pumpkins are adorable! The great thing is that you get to enjoy them for longer than when you carve a jack-o-lantern.

Ok, first I LOVE how these turned out- so cute! I saw these in the catalog too and thought the exact same thing- hey, I can do that! I just haven't had the time to do it! Too bad we didn't chat- we could've had a craft date! And Pottery Barn is in E's bones, too- she always grabs it and tells me "Momma, this is my "favrite magzine!!" What have we created??!! πŸ™‚

I couldn't help but laugh out loud when you talked about your husband fearing the trend of your daughter sitting down with a PB catalog. πŸ˜€

These turned out so stinkin' CUTE! I have been wanting to do the same thing after I saw it in the PB catalog too. Isn't PB just awesome?! I would just love if you would come over to Crazy Cute at Between U & Me and share this with everyone! πŸ™‚
