Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree

December 8, 2011 by Courtney 25 Comments

There really is no place like home for the holidays. We feel very blessed to have family and friends nearby and are planning to take it all in during the month of December. Our tree is very traditional in that we keep it simple with white lights and ornaments that have been collected through the years. I have many from childhood and love telling our children all about them each year when we pull them out. Here is a look at what the tree looks like during the day. IMG_5928 IMG_5965 We just added our stockings to our mantel. The two for our children were hand made {needlepoint} by grandma and are very special to us. The lining is made from pillow cases the belonged to Great Grandma and Grandpa. The two for us are new and I will give you the Etsy deets on those soon! IMG_5919IMG_5942 Do you see what I see??? That is Candy Cane, our sweet elf. The children go bananas each morning looking for where he has landed. Today happened to be the tree! Here are some photos of our tree at night. My favorite time of the day when we listen to Christmas music and snuggle. IMG_5943IMG_5951IMG_5957 The only other additions are silver bulbs to add more shimmer and help reflect the lights as well as shimmery polka dot ribbon wound around the tree. How beautiful your tree is. I like that the children have fun looking for Candy Cane each morning, what lovely memories you are creating. The children's stocking with their special linings are so precious.

So pretty! We're all about old ornaments. My brother and I each have about 30 ornaments we've collected all throughout the years. I have all of the precious moments ones since I was born…so fun!! (:

I always do white lights. I love the sophisticated look it gives. I need to edit my 1,327 picture of my tree. I promise not to post all of them. 😉

Those stocking are beautiful and even more so b/c of the meaning. Nothing beats that.

Your tree is so beautiful, Courtney. I think Christmas is such a magical time. I wish I could leave ours up year round. What pretty needlepoint stockings. Those are to be treasured! I hang the one my mom made me when I was a baby every year.
