Saturday Shopping

Good morning! So nice to be back into the swing of things again. We still have family in town so I will stick to the things I really want you to know about this morning. Is it cold where you are? We are definitely feeling the winter chill. We still have Christmas up (didn’t make sense to take it down with family in town) so will be working on packing that up tomorrow. It’s actually felt really nice having the twinkle lights up this long. They will be missed, that’s for sure. Grab a warm cup of coffee or tea and let’s do some Saturday Shopping.

BASEMENT FIND

We are very slowly getting the basement furnished. Very slowly! But we knew we wanted a long piece for under our tv (still need that, too). It needed to be longer than most pieces and not too wide. I couldn’t believe it when I stumbled upon this cabinet. We took a leap and bought three. They are $108 each. Most long pieces I was looking at were thousands. I originally thought . . . well I will do this until we find something but now that they are in the space, we truly love them. Really pretty deep brown color and plenty of storage. So happy I took a chance. My husband is over the moon that this wall of cabinets was under $400.

This might be the softest blanket we have. I bought two for our basement space but I think they will quickly find their way to our family room because the kids were fighting over one just the other day. A great price ($25) and looks really high end. It comes in more colors but I loved this version. It’s called Almond Biscuit Ombre. If you have a friend going through a tough time, I always think a cozy blanket and a heartfelt hand written note is a nice idea.

GET ORGANIZED

I am feeling the need to get more organized in the new year. To pair down and make sure everything has a place. These baskets are GREAT. I found them in the bathroom section so of course they would work there but I used these in our basement cabinet for some of our games (cards, UNO, etc). I love the size and they would be great in a pantry as well. They are $10 and a really nice size.

If you are looking for some pretty candle holders, these are lovely. And what a price! I have a few sets (some from my mom) and I mix and match using them on the table and throughout the house.

This is different than mine, but I love this one. The pleated shade is so pretty. And it comes with other shade options (the green is beautiful. . . a friend of mine has it on her bar cart).

NICE TO HAVE ON HAND

Santa gifted these felt tips pins to Riley in her stocking. She loves to study with colors. There have been so many studies done on how effective that is for remembering information. I think I might order a set for keeping my calendar. I am also a huge notepad girl. I write on my notepads throughout the day for work or for home things and like the idea of color coding the notes.

WE LOVE THESE

I have had these zippered bins for years (multiple houses) and LOVE. You know I’ve shared these many times but just came across this color and this price. Essentially $10 each! I am buying a set for my daughter’s closet.

I use them to store away seasonal clothes in my closet (swap summer for winter). I also have one for each child (in my closet) that has keepsakes. These truly hold so much and are fantastic. We’ve let a lot of our spaces get pretty disorganized so I am going to do my best to make way through them.

COZY AND WARM

I just noticed this jacket is on sale. I have had it for two years now and love it. I really like that it has the part that goes over your hands. It’s freezing in Nashville right now and this kept me so warm while we were out and about with family yesterday. Riley loves it, too and will take one back to school with her.

If you are in between sizes, go down . . this is an XS and it’s a bit snug over sweaters.

A FAVORITE ON SALE

Speaking of cozy and warm. . . this sequin jacket is still on sale. I love it so much. I went down a size because I was wearing it during the holidays with a turtleneck or thin top. If you plan to layer over sweaters, I would suggest your usual size. Hands down one of my favorite purchases of 2024.

This sweater is so cute. It’s $50 with a 70% off! Wonderful deal.

Teen boys can be challenging when it comes to anything other than a hoodie. My son loves this pullover so wanted to pass that along. Looks great with chords or denim. He also wears it with his Lululemon black pants and it looks great.

A FAVORITE AROUND HERE

I had given this set to Riley for her birthday (in green . . .it’s so pretty) and I always commented on how much I loved it when she wore it. She completely surprised me and bought me this color set for Christmas. I have been living in the sweatshirt. It’s such a flattering cut and so cozy. Love!!! And it looks really cute with this $8 top under it.

TARGET FINDS

One way I love to stay organized is with hooks. We used these wooden hooks throughout our rental home for guests. It keeps things off the floor and feeling more tidy. We also have a set in our guest room here. It’s nice to be able to have a spot for purses, scarves, hoodies . . .anything you may want to quickly hang up.

Recently hung this in the beach house and plan to buy one for our home. I just love this piece so much.

SUCH PRETTY PIECES

I am a huge fan of these ottomans. We have four! They just release so many great new colors and I really like the addition of the piping. Considering two of these for the basement for added seating.

Another really great option that looks high end in person. Love the fabric on this.

This caught my eye. Great size and really pretty lines. Fantastic for a small space living room.

This floral pillow suddenly wants to make me design a traditional girl’s room. So pretty and classic.
