Are you as excited about the weekend as I am? Bring it on! We have a jam-packed couple of days with a birthday party for our daughter and baseball for our son, but it’s just nice to know we don’t have to get up and out the door early. I’ll take it. I am really excited to share this little black dress with you all today. It’s crazy soft and super easy to wear. Such a great combination. I even chose to travel to Dallas in it which means it passes the comfort test with flying colors. Today I am showing you the dress styled casually as well as the date night version.
Let’s kick it off with the more casual styling. This is what I wore to fly to Dallas. The jean jacket is perfect for traveling because you never know if you’ll be cold on a flight. Pairing it with flats or summer sandals and a colorful necklace works great. By the way, this dress also comes in gray, pink, and royal blue.
And it’s no secret I love this striped bag. It’s been one of my favorite purchases. And because it fits under the seat in front of you on a plane, it’s ideal for travel. I think what I like most about it is that it has three separate compartments and they each have a zippered pocket. I also really appreciate that it is light to begin with. Nothing worse than starting out with a heavy bag before there is anything even inside.

This dress honestly feels like pajamas. It is so soft and although it has a waist, it is not tight at all. I am wearing a size small.

Now let’s kick it up a notch. With just swapping out shoes, a necklace and losing the jean jacket, it’s a date night dress.
I don’t normally wear necklaces high on my chest, but this one is light and fun. And at $14 it’s a keeper.
And by the way, these heels are so comfortable. I tried on one million pairs like this {all different brands} to take to Dallas with me. These were comfy the second I put them on. The are now here and marked down to $45. They won’t last long at that price.
I love the ruching on the sides of this dress, too. It gives it a little something. And I am a fan of racerback cuts so this is a win all around. This dress is just so soft and versatile. I think I will order the dress in gray, too.

I also have received a few emails about my white jeans lately. I LOVE them. I really do. I wear them all the time. You can’t beat the price and they look great on. And the Free People tank I have worn so often is now price matched to $15. Now is the time to get one. See how I wore them together here.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. And thank you to all of you who left such sweet comments about the new blog look. And thank you for the personal emails as well. They honestly brightened up my day. Thank you for your patience as we continue to iron out more of the kinks. Off to an art party for my sweet nine year old. Can’t wait to see her masterpiece. Enjoy your day.

I can vouch for how awesome you looked in this dress in person! And you kept saying how comfy it was! I need to step up my airport traveling wardrobe game! Couldn’t be more excited for you over this beautiful new site. Sometimes, simplicity is the hardest design of all but this is really well done! 🙂 Have a great weekend girlie!

Girlie. Best compliment ever from you. Thank you. Lauren did an awesome job and I am really excited with how it is coming together.
It really is my pajama dress! I remember telling you that. Hope you’ve had a wonderful time with Grandma!

I love the dress. It’s very cute, and looks incredibly comfy. Darn about the bag, I ended up returning mine because I didn’t think it would fit under the seat (and I worried about it getting dirty. Planes are not the cleanest things in the world…) I ended up getting the Tommy Hilfiger travel tote. I’ll find out tomorrow night how it does for a trip to London!
Courtney says
Oh, shoot. Sorry I didn’t mention that before. But I am sure you will love the TH travel tote. Have so much fun. I love London so so much.

You wear that dress well Courtney! It really is a perfect LBD for dressing up or going causal. Add in comfort and it’s a win win. I love the ruching on the sides. You look gorgeous as always! I know I’ve already said but I will say it again your new site is beautiful. I think it truly represents you and your personality. Crisp, fresh, organized, classy, feminine with a touch of edge! Happy Birthday to your daughter!

Oh, thank you so much Allison. Sweet compliment about the dress but even more lovely about the blog. That makes me smile ear to ear as it was so important to me to get it right and have it be a reflection of me. Your compliment means more than you know. Enjoy your weekend, dear friend. xo

Courtney – I love this dress. I actually bought the blue and pink version. It is so comfortable. Still have the last 5 pounds of baby weight to go before it fits perfectly, but figured that it would give me some more inspiration to get back to the gym and wear it this summer. I am so excited to finally be able to shop all your recommendations now. We also need to get together soon so that you can meet Avery.
And yes, your blog looks beautiful. Congrats my friend!
