Saturday Shopping | The Shirtdress

May 30, 2015 by Courtney 4 Comments

Anyone else drinking an extra cup of coffee this morning?! Although the week was shorter, it still tired me out. Our children are in school for three more weeks and the end of the year is always such a busy time. We had my son’s first grade music performance and I cried through the whole thing. Seeing 120 first graders waving American flags and belting out songs with all of their might was more than my heart could take. I just wanted to freeze time. And our son is all in. His eyes light up and he sings from his soul. It was a good week indeed.

And super excited about a pretty dress I found for our trip to Napa this summer. Do you know the feeling when you spot a dress or outfit and just know it’s coming home with you?! Well it happened to me last week when I scooped up this little shirtdress.

But here is the deal. I will tell you that when I came home and looked it up online so I could link it for you I was super bummed because it wasn’t available. Then I realized. . . it was there and I had just missed it. To me it looks SO DIFFERENT online than it does in person. Trust me when I say it’s soft and lovely with a darling fit. I don’t think the online images from the website do it justice. It’s the perfect combination of pale pink and black.

Apparently I really like that it has pockets because I seemed to keep my hands in them the entire time. Oops. As for sizing, I went down a size and bought a 4. If you look at the sizing chart I should have bought a 6 but I wanted it to be pretty fitted. I will say that it is snug to get on and off. . . but once it’s on it’s a perfect fit. I love a good shirt dress because you can dress them up or down. I will wear this with my gold sandals or a pair of sandals like this.

I’m getting so much use out of these heels. They are just so comfy but I know sizes are going quickly. But at $45 I promise they are a great buy. I also found these which are very similar and made by one of my favorite brands.

Shop My Look

The Nordstrom Half-Yearly sale is only on for two more days! Today and tomorrow. I ordered some of these tanks for summer and my husband stocked up on some trim fit dress shirts. We couldn’t pass up the 40% off.

Wearing Lately

These are all in heavy circulation around here. And I noticed the Free People dress was back in stock with more sizes again. At least as of early this morning.

New Summer Sandals

These all just came in and are great neutral sandals for summer. Especially if the cage look and all of the straps are not your thing. I love the simplicity of these. Anyone notice that sandals look a lot like they did 20 or so years ago {aging myself}. I know I had similar sandals just like above in high school!!!!

franco sarto sandal

so excited these are back!!!

And lastly! I am soooo excited. I tried these on in store and wanted to buy them but they only had an 8. And were sold out throughout the entire company. But they are baaaaack! And I LOVE them. The most comfortable sandal ever. Any time I have owned a shoe by Franco Sarto I have been extremely happy with the comfort and quality. I am scooping them up!

I hope you all have a great weekend. We are spending time with my parents which is always wonderful. Hoping to get our patio spruced up a bit as well. We took down our outdoor lights. Well. . . I forced them to come crashing down when I opened our French doors with too much pizzazz. Anyhoo. We need to put up the replacements and clean things up a bit. Tis the season. Have a lovely day.

Oh how fun your son’s music performance sounds! I am sure you and your hubby were beaming ear to ear. I can just picture all the little first graders. How cute!! That dress is darling on you Courtney! Pink and black is a great combination. Love the quilted handbag, too. Have a nice time with your parents and a lovely weekend.

Oh the concert just melted me. I really do want to freeze time. They are at such a precious age. And thank you for the compliment on the dress. It caught my eye and I really did have to have it. Hope you had a wonderful weekend, Allison. xo
