Simple and Chic Christmas Gifts

Happy December. Can you believe it?  I hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend. We all know that this is the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s also the busiest. So to keep things simple, I like to create special gifts for friends and family that don’t require a crazy amount of time. They still are personal and unique and are sure to bring a smile to someone’s face. Excited to share with you my latest Michaels Makers project. The sweet mug, reading “peace” on the other side, is a fun way to wrap up a gift. It’s a gift as well and is filled with a unique piece of jewelry. What girl doesn’t love a little piece of arm candy?! * All supplies for this project, including the mug and bow, were found at Michaels. I have always walked right by the jewelry making section at Michael’s. In fact, when I stopped in the other day my daughter said, “But Mom, you don’t know how to make jewelry.” Valid point indeed. But lucky for me there are amazing pieces that just need to be hooked together! What? I didn’t know. I have been given similar piece of jewelry from high end stores and LOVE them. I decided to play around with some leather wraps and special sayings. You can choose any saying you think would be appropriate for the recipient. So much fun. And at $4 a piece you can beat the price. “Choose Happiness” speaks volumes and is a huge motto of mine. I simply clipped the gold plate to the leather band. Done and done. I created a few different bracelets and will give them to my friends this season.   To wrap up this sweet little number I used a gold sharpie to draw a quick tree on the mug. Then attached a darling bow. Michaels has a collection of these bows that come in a package.  I added a monogram sticker to each little gift tag to make it more personal. I am going with jewelry this year, but you could fill these cute mason jar mugs with gift cards or anything else you can dream up. I can’t tell you home much fun it has been being part of the Michaels Makers program this year.
