I absolutely love being a part of the 12 Months of Martha program and am serving up some really simple DIY ideas for party décor today. With very little time and effort, you can create a beautiful party setup. I am all about making everyday life beautiful, but I don’t want it to be too time consuming or difficult. I’ve also learned that it’s good to focus on just one spot and make it pretty. It might be a table, a buffet, or even a mantel. This month, I was sent an array of gorgeous paints. I knew I wanted to incorporate all of them into my table. And with that, polka dots and peonies was born! I wanted to create a polka dot tablecloth. I thought about painting the dots on the cloth, but then realized I could create something that would allow me to splash color on this white tablecloth anytime I wanted to. Wood polka dots it is! The best part is that you can create as many as you want in any color and literally have a table that matches any color scheme. I love that the wood dots give the table more depth and dimension, too. utility brush set | Yellow Jacket | Wild Salmon | Camellia Pink | Party Streamer | Poodle Skirt | similar wood circles This couldn’t be easier. I grabbed some craft dots and started painting with the beautiful colors. I am a big fan of these brushes. My big tip is to place the dots on wax paper and to use a tooth pick to move them around or hold them in place while you paint. I have a mason jar and plan to keep all of my painted polka dots in there so I can use any of them anytime I want to create a different look. The possibilities are endless. The fresh flowers on the cake made for a two second cake decorating session. And I love how they are in keeping with the polka dot color scheme. Next up are these easy napkin rings. I tied ribbon around each one and stuck on a Martha Stewart paper flower. Easy peasy. My new favorite punch is the scallop circle layering punch. I printed out the names on the computer and then punched them out. A tiny bit of glue and cute washi tape attaches them to the straw. Done and done. You may remember this confetti bowl I made. If you missed the DIY it can be found here. Atop a smaller cake stand, the bowl hold fresh whip cream. Just in case there isn’t enough on the cake! Or for dipping strawberries. Just sayin. My other big tip is that the Ikea white curtain panels make awesome tablecloths! you can cut the rings off and hem it in no time. They are nice and long and the will fit most tables. I am super excited about the painted wood polka dots. I was thinking they would be cute in a rainbow color scheme down the center of the table. Or stick to black and you would have a really bold black and white polka dot look. Now off to eat cake! A big thank you to the editors of Martha Stewart Living for providing the paint as part of the #12MonthsofMartha program! Idea and opinions are mine. Always.

So cute! We are doing a bubble guppies (fish and under the sea if you don't know the show) themed party for Noah. These could look like bubbles on the table!

One of the many reasons I love your blog is because you show us how to totally decorate a space so that it looks really lovely, but nothing is ever super time consuming. It's exciting to see ideas that are almost effortless but don't look like it since there are a lot of us who don't have a ton of time to decorate for a party, a space, etc. Thank you!
