Starburst Mirrors: Jewelry for a Room

August 11, 2014 by Courtney 10 Comments

Happy Monday, my friends. It’s bittersweet for us as we so enjoyed having family in town and always hate saying goodbye. Today I am sharing more about the starburst mirror update we made to our bedroom. I have been looking high and low for what to hang above our bed. The wallpaper is the focal point and I did not want to distract from that. I also know that an upholstered headboard carries a lot of weight visually so it couldn’t be something too large or imposing. Well out of the blue, I remembered I had been given a mirror by my sister in law last Christmas. I pulled it out and it’s ideal for above our bed. It ties in nicely with our brass reading reading lamp and is exactly the jewelry the space needed. bedroommirror starburst mirror $30 bedroommirrortwo This room is really coming together. The throw pillow is from HomeGoods {moved it from our chair} and the nightstands are from Restoration Hardware. I am now focused on the window treatments. Wish me luck. I wanted to round up a few well priced mirrors that are all favorites of mine. Number one is hanging in our powder bath. mirrorcollage one | two {sale} | three {sale} | four | five To see the reading nook update in our room you can click here and here. Perfect! Pop a chain on it and I'd wear it as a necklace. Too much?

It looks very pretty, but I am surprised at the placement, given that you live in earthquake country (as do I, also in OC). You wouldn't want that beauty to fall down on you in an earthquake. And even if it's securely fastened to the wall, the vibrations can make the mirror bang against the wall, causing the glass to shatter and rain down on you. I would reconsider the placement for a good night's sleep!

Looks great Courtney! We purchased on similar to #4 without the gold accents from Lowes for our girls bath and love it. And, the price could not be beat if anyone is looking for something similar.

Love you room! I have been obsessing over the Martha Stewart sunburst mirror for a while. I have visited 2 Home Depots and couldn't find it. I even emailed their customer service department trying to get my hands on it and they replied that they no longer sell it. Do you know something I don't ? Please do tell!
    Thanks!

I would have never thought to look at Walmart for a mirror. I just ordered, thanks so much for sharing!
