Summer Centerpiece {Willow House Love}

August 18, 2011 by Courtney 16 Comments

About a month or so ago, my friend Jenn from Green Door Designs posted about a sale over at Willow House. I am not one to pass up a great sale so I jumped right in! I am so happy I did. I picked up a couple of great pieces that I used yesterday. A dear friend of mine came for a visit with her two month old baby boy. It’s her first baby and I wanted her to feel relaxed and at home. I made a simple summer salad {forgot the photos of course!} and just enjoyed getting to know baby Matteo. I love the look of fresh flowers and stacking the rose bowl atop the pedestal {villa petite pedestal} makes for a pretty centerpiece that isn’t too tall. IMG_3579 IMG_3581 Do any of you already have this piece? I love it. I keep it on my kitchen counter and use it at least twice a week. On Tuesday nights I fill it with taco toppings. For this I just popped in some crackers, cookies, and almonds to munch on before lunch was ready. I had planned to snap some photos but the doorbell rang and the photo shoot was over. I had a new baby to cuddle! IMG_3582 And after a close friend has a baby, I like to give the mommy a gift rather than the little one. Let’s face it. Between the baby showers and post baby gifts, the little one has everything they could possibly need and more. So I like to give the new mommy a pretty bracelet or necklace. There are so many fun trendy pieces that don’t break the bank and let the new mom feel special.  A take out box is a fun way to wrap it up. {I used Microsoft Publisher to create the personalized tag}. IMG_3593 I think it hit me that today might be one of the last days I create a summer table before we start turning to fall! Can you believe it? Where has the summer gone? And to Jenn, thanks for the fun Willow House finds. I love them! Do you have any favorite serving pieces that you use often?

    Sounds like you made her feel right at home. Love the center piece. I love the idea of giving the mommy something, nice touch. I love any kind of clear glass as it goes with anything!

    I use square white plates + trays when I entertain guests. And I occasionally throw in a patterned plate to add a punch of color to my table.

    I'm heading over to Willow House right now, it's been awhile since I last browsed their site..

    I love that centerpiece. I have a Kate Spade vase similar to yours, so I might have to try and recreate this look!

    Looks great – thank you for the shout out! I must say I am kicking myself for not getting the sectioned serving piece and now it is gone. I do love my pedestal though! I also think the mom present is a GREAT idea. You are such a thoughtful friend my dear

    What a clever idea ~ putting fresh flowers up on a pedestal or cake stand ~ I will try this 🙂

    Looks beautiful!

    I've not shopped there, but I love that pedestal. And I'm sad Summer is coming to an end, but the reality is it's still 100 degrees here…so Summer will continue, we'll just have to go to school during the week.

    And I'm crazy about painting Grady's dresser a bright color ! (obviously) 🙂

    Ohhh so pretty! I bought a couple of items from Willow House on sale this summer too, but I didn't get this vase. I love it and love how you displayed it! You are so thoughtfull too. I'm sure your new mommy friend loved having a friend prepare her lunch and shower her with a gift! Great idea.

    That is such a great idea for adding height. I have a cake stand in the cabinet just waiting for something to do.

    That is such a great idea to add height to a centerpiece! I hit the sale as well and found some great bowls that we use daily. What a pretty little package for the new mom! Very sweet and thoughtful.

    Love the idea of a mommy gift…that is so very sweet!

    I have a similar round piece from Crate and Barrel and it often comes in handy as well!
