A couple of weeks ago, I showed you some cute, colorful additions to our reading nook. I found them at Nordstrom and have been so impressed with their home section. I’ve stuck to looking at the bedroom and home décor under $200 for some clients I have . . . they are very discerning clients with an eye for color! Both my kiddos love to pick things out for their rooms. I’m sure I have created design monsters but I figure their spouses will thank me for it later! I hope. This time around they each picked out one thing for their bedrooms. My son went straight for the owl pillow and even told me where he wanted to put it in his room. I think he did a darn good job! When he is not on the floor, he puts his pillow on the navy ottoman. I think it’s pretty darn cute. owl pillow This kid can’t get enough of The Magic Tree House books. Are you familiar? He loves them. And I think it’s cute how he cozies up on his floor with his new owl pillow. I just get so sad when I see how big he looks in his room. If only time would slow down! anne of green gables | adventures of huckleberry finn My soon to be third grader can’t stop reading. She picks up a book and reads it non-stop. She was so excited when we found these classics. I was gushing about how much I loved Anne of Green Gables when I was little. The covers . . . cutest ever. I mean, really. And the Alice in Wonderland book has pink flamingos on it! And I was so hoping to show you a finished headboard by now, but unfortunately it hasn’t happened yet. I think at this point my daughter will have to wait until she goes back to school so mama an actually get things done! I rounded up some of the items for the home that caught my eye. Almost all of them are on sale for a steal. I especially love the “choose happy” candle {only $10}. Something I always try to remember on days that get me down. So much of this life is a choice.
There’s that Alice in Wonderland book with pink flamingos! So so cute. I think all of these would help refresh a space and give a little pop of color. The home section at Nordstrom is great for gift ideas, too. In fact, I just picked up this little number to send off to a friend. And I am embarrassed to say that I didn’t get this at first and then when it hit me I couldn’t stop laughing. Funniest doormat EVER. And by the way, my favorite faux wrap dress is now in navy, too. Hello! So dang cute. * Post sponsored by Nordstrom. Opinions, items purchased and ideas are 100% my own.

My daughter is obsessed with flamingos lately. I'll have to pick that book up for her to read, when she can read (she's 2). 🙂 Love that owl pillow as well!

I love that your kids love to read. I might be sounding old fashioned here but I think it is so important to read vs all of the computer games. My sister and I read a lot growing up and still do. I think I need that candle to pop on my desk. Such a great reminder and I agree with you that so much of life is a choice. The candle would be a fun little gift, too. Maybe I'll pick up a few for Christmas.

Love those books! I bought a set of them at Costco last fall (Black Beauty, Peter Pan, The Call of the Wild, The Wind in the Willows, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Secret Garden, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Anne of Green Gables). And I bought The Wizard of Oz on Amazon. Such beautiful books.
