Swim season is about to be upon us, my friends! Are you excited? So there is a part of me that always dreads the season of suits. I suppose at any age we all have our hangups about putting on a suit. While I tend to gravitate towards a bikini {only after some serious self tanner usage for this Irish girl}, there are many times where a one piece just feels right.
We spend a ton of time at the pool and beach with our kiddos over the summer and I often find that I am more comfortable in a one piece if there are lots of children around and especially for the summer pool parties.
Nordstrom has some darling styles and the quality is fantastic. And for the record, always pay attention to the sizing information they provide. I usually wear a 4, but the Nordstrom site suggested a 6 in this style and they were spot on.

I will confess that I tend to spend less on my two pieces suits but am willing to splurge on a good fitting one piece if the quality and timeless style is there. This classic white suit will last many many seasons. The detailing on this suit is really beautiful and looks great with a maxi skirt as a cover-up, too. I paired it with a black one and really liked the look.
Can we talk about this donut?! I am sort of in love with it. We gave it to our daughter as one of her birthday gifts and she graciously let me use it for these photos {snapping swimsuit photos at a public pool may be right up there with one of the most uncomfortable situations I have encountered. Just sayin}. But this donut. I love it. This pink flamingo float is pretty darn cute, too.
I think I may order a couple more donuts to give as gifts this summer. I mean how do you pass up a sprinkle donut in the pool?
I rounded up some more one piece suits that caught my eye below. I really think solid colors look amazing in one pieces and Nordstrom has some darling ones right now. This pink one is gorgeous.

i had the hardest time finding something that would fit and I would be comfortable in so I had a suit made. It was pricey,$250, but I LOVE it! So worth it.

You look great in that white one piece! I am definitely a one piece gal, especially after having a baby. I have a “pooch” for a stomach, so I don’t feel comfortable AT ALL in anything but a one piece. Thank you for the great inspiration!

The white one piece looks very flattering on you! I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with sunless tanners. Do you know of any good ones that are easy to apply and won’t rub off on your clothing?

Hot mama! That suit looks stunning on you! I also prefer a one piece for pool time with my kiddos, and I love this one. I’ve had good luck with JCrew one pieces. I always wait until the end of the season to get a better deal, but the fabric is great and they’ve held up well.
