My sweet friend Carmel from Our Fifth House tagged me in a “get to know you better” type of game. You know the ones that get sent around via email where you are asked a bunch of silly questions. But let’s face it. We all secretly like reading them and I am a huge sucker for these questionnaires so here we go! 1. If you had a time machine, where or rather when would you go? via http://tinywhitedaisies.tumblr.com/page/11/ via pinterest Wow. Talk about starting off with a doozie. I would be lying if I said there weren’t a couple of things I wish I could completely change about the past. But I have always believed in moving forward. I choose to stay in the here and now. Super blessed to be on this journey with my family. I treasure each day. Life is good today {Zac Brown Band, anyone?}
2. Diamonds or Pearls? via http://weheartit.com/entry/3244165/ via pinterest Both. I love a great set of pearls, but diamonds are just so darn beautiful. What’s not to love about them both?
3. What’s your favorite movie? via pinterest Hmmm. Father of the Bride for sure. I love light hearted feel good movies. I also love The Notebook because it’s unbelievably romantic.
4. When you were a kid, what was your favorite television show? via Who’s The Boss! Totally embarrassed to admit it, but I wanted to be Alyssa Milano.
5. Let’s pretend you found $50 in your couch cushions, what would you run out and buy? via http://investforlater.tumblr.com// via pinterest Another couch cushion . . . maybe there would be $100 in that one
6. What is your favorite color? via apartment therapy I don’t do well with favorites. When I was a little girl I slept with a different stuffed animal each night so as not to play favorites. White is one of my top picks. Fresh, clean, beautiful. Yellow makes me smile and is such a bright and happy color. Green is my go-to and is a nod to the outdoors. I could seriously make a case for every color of the rainbow. Love them all.
7. Why did you start your blog? I was inspired by what other talented women were sharing via their blog. I desired an outlet for my creative ideas and projects. It really just came about naturally. So blessed that it did. It’s been an amazing journey and I am so very thankful for all of my readers. Especially because the only readers I had in the beginning were my parents and hubby! {Who are still reading to this day. Thank you}.
8. What is your favorite home decor store? via west elm West Elm. . . . HomeGoods for deals. . . . Z Gallerie. I also love Etsy for pillows and unique décor items.
9. Name one thing in your make-up bag you can not live without? via luuux Lip Gloss. I wear MAC Love Nectar and I wouldn’t leave home without it.
10. Do you watch Revenge? via YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I love it. We just got hooked on it and watched the entire season. We don’t watch very much TV but something needed to fill the void that losing 24 left. Nothing like a good drama to escape into.
11. Will you still be my friend even though I made you suffer through this little game of tag? {Carmel from Our Fifth House} via Hmm. I will give that some thought and get back to you! So now you know a little bit more about me. I am now tagging you, my readers. Here are three questions to choose from. Pick one and answer in the comment section below. Let’s learn more about you! Everybody’s doin’ it! 1. What is your happy place? Whether it’s simple or elaborate . . . .what brings you the most joy? 2. When eating an Oreo, do you eat it as is or take it apart? { I am an as is kind of gal} 3. What’s the hardest thing you’ve learned to accept about yourself? {deep, I know} So pick one question and let’s hear what you have to say. Tag, you’re it!

I loved Who's the Boss. That and Full House.
Yes, love Revenge. It's like Real Housewives on steroids.

Ha, Who's the Boss? Brings back memories!
Question…
Happy Place? Anywhere my cell phone is when my girls call to say Hi.
Chandra Chinnis says
I would have to say my happy place right now is my computer also. I can see what is going on with my family that is far away. I want to be closer so this helps. I also am happy when my husband and kids are all together with me having fun.
Bernadette {Chic Spaces for Little Faces} says
Who's the Boss and Growing Pains were my absolute favorite!!! LOL
Happy Place: the beach and seeing my husband and son playing and laughing together.

Happy Place: on a mountain skiing with my family!

I loved who's the boss! And I have to admit—I love Oreos any way shape or form—especially when they are covered in white chocolate….but if they are not covered, I love to take them apart! Also—lately and sadly, the hardest thing have had to accept and work through is that I am prideful.
Anna See says
I accept my oreos just as they are.

Totally loved Who's the Boss? And, I'm going to have to take the Oreos question, because that sounds really good to me right now (at 8 am) and any time really. I prefer my Oreos as is. I don't take them apart. I wouldn't want to unevenly distribute the cream in the middle. OCD much? I love Oreos dunked in milk, and my issue is that I can seriously eat an entire package. By myself. In one sitting…which might also be my happy place!
Tonja says
Love your blog!
I take my Oreos apart. I will eat the center and give the cookie to my dog lol
Tiffanie says
I like my oreos as is….. and I am even more old school and dip them in milk!
Aubrey {All Things Bright and Beautiful} says
Aren't you such a doll! And you got right on this…I'm still procrastinating (c: I'm definitely a whole oreo eater…*so* much better…especially with milk!
{Hi Sugarplum!} says
So fun!! I guess I'm going to not be a stick in the mud and participate in this too! As for my answer to your questions…let's talk oreos. Something I never buy, bc then I end up eating 88% of the package! But when I do, I take a first bite as-is, then split them apart…but only to make this last longer. Have you seen the new double deckers?! One vanilla frosting, one chocolate, with oreo cookie in between?!?!!?!?!?!?!!!???
natasha {schue love} says
I love FOB too…such a classic! And I love the last Lucy pic! You're a girl after my own heart I tell ya! xo And I like to dunk my oreos and eat them as one! 🙂
Meg {Pink Fireflies} says
So fun to learn more about you!
A: With my husband and kids, preferably at the beach – Cape Cod or Charleston!
B: Don't like Oreos and never had. Maybe it's how the chocolate always seems to get stuck in your teeth? 🙂
C: That I'm a control freak. But now I accept it and openly admit it so it's pretty easy for myself and others to accept with it out in the open!

these were so fun to read! i loved who's the boss! and i also have a hard time picking favorites and did the same thing with stuffed animals!
ok, something that is hard to accept about myself: i have a hard time showing affection and love to my husband and parents. it comes so easily with the kids- i can't get enough of their hugs and kisses, but i have a harder time and tend to wall off when it comes to the rest of my family. i have t mentally make myself try harder- i know that sounds crazy! i am a very open and happy person, but i tense up. i am sure it has to do with my history, which i will have a blog post on soon. but either way, i TRY. i noticed it so much more when i had my kids and it was just so easy with them.

Too funny! I was just eating two double stuffed Oreos as I was reading your questions. I have to say, I put the whole thing in, I need it all at once. Enjoyed your answers, very smarty girl we have here.
Courtney {a thoughtful place} says
So much fun reading through all of these and learning more about my readers. Thanks for sharing you guys!!!

So fun to read and learn a little more about you, Courtney. Oh, I loved Who's The Boss! A few months ago I was down with the flu and my hubby caught me watching Who's The Boss reruns. Loved it just as much now as I did back then. Oreos…can't eat just one! I eat them "as is" but can easily eat a whole row out of the bag in nothing flat. I am addicted to MAC Love Nectar lip gloss, too. It's a staple in my purse. I would say the hardest thing I've learned to accept about myself (actually, it's still a work in progress) is that I am a perfectionist and sometimes to a fault. It used to be that I never wanted company or people dropping by UNLESS my house was spotless and everything thing in its place. I realized I was missing out on impromptu dinners with friends coming over. Life is too short and not everything has to be perfect all the time. I am constantly working on this and have come a long way. I may have gotten on track with the question….. Fun post, Courtney!
Michaela says
Love this!! That lipgloss looks divine and hellooo Father of the Bride. "Good bye George, see ya next Thursday…" (Favorite line) Such a great movie 🙂
Natalie says
What a fun post…and I love a lot of those same things. My happy place would be watching my kids getting along. My husband greeting me after a long day. My baby waking up from a nap and listening to her coo in the baby monitor. I am a simple girl..I don't need a lot to be happy! 🙂

3. What’s the hardest thing you’ve learned to accept about yourself?
The hardest thing that I have learned to accept about myself is that I have survivor's guilt about my Dad dying when I was 11 years old. I am one month away from my 25th birthday and as I get older, my coping skills over his death have stayed the same, including the survivor's guilt. I have learned to accept that I will probably feel the survivor's guilt for a big part of my adult life.

How fun to read more about you Courtney! And a great way to share the tag game. I'm going with the joy question – and the answer to that would be sitting on a beach somewhere, anywhere, with my husband and kids on a sunshiny day! Can't beat it! Have a joyful day yourself!

2. When eating an Oreo, do you eat it as is or take it apart? { I am an as is kind of gal}
I eat it as is but it HAS TO HAS TO be dipped in milk first! 🙂 I like semi-soggy Oreos!!! lol Sorry.
Carmel @ Our Fifth House says
Who's the Boss and Father of the Bride – I swear we're the same person! 😉 Thanks for playing! My happy place – on my couch on Thursday nights (with a glass of red in hand) watching Vampire Diaries, Grey's, and Private Practice. It's the only night I really watch tv – other than Revenge on Wednesdays. =)

2. When eating an Oreo, do you eat it as is or take it apart?
I usually (99% of the time) eat Oreo's with milk. I eat as is and dunk them in the milk until they're just a bit soggy. I love the texture and the taste…kinda like cold melty goodness! 🙂

My happy place is definitely in my bed, with my husband and my ipad reading my design blogs and shopping for clients while my babies are happily sleeping in their beds 🙂
