Take 5 Tuesday #1: Fourth of July

June 21, 2011 by Courtney 17 Comments

Thank you to all of the amazing bloggers who contributed five minute projects to the Take Five Series {Five Days of Five Minute Projects}. It was so well received that I thought it would be fun to dedicate Tuesdays to quick and easy projects. Although we all love a great furniture redo or even a stenciled wall, it’s also really nice to check something off the list in just a few minutes. I am hoping that you will find inspiration for just such a thing here on Tuesdays. And if you would like to contribute an idea, please send me a link to your project at athoughtfulplaceblog@gmail.com ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… This week is a tribute to the Fourth of July! It’s just around the corner so it’s time to get the wheels spinning. If you haven’t already feasted your eyes on this party from Hostess with the Mostess you will certainly want to wander over there. It’s AMAZING. And while it certainly wasn’t put together in five minutes, I put together some quick and easy projects  for you below! You will even be directed to some super cute printables.  Enjoy and happy 4th of July planning! Modern 4th of July Party Ideas   #1: Festive Marshmallow Pops IMG_4504 So these might be more of a ten minute project . . . but sooooo easy. I buy the craft sticks and candy melts from Michael’s. Simply stick the craft stick in the marshmallow, dip in melted candy and add some sprinkles. I like to fill a pail with sand so that they can easily stick inside as they set. You can leave them plain or add a candy wrapper and tag to each one. IMG_4513   #2: Stars and Stripes:  it is what it is These bag toppers are just too cute. They are designed to fit a standard ziploc sandwich bag or snack bag. So adorable. They could even be used to wrap candy bars. If you would like these, pop on over here and you will be able to print them out. Quick and unbelievably cute. #3: Martha Stewart Delivers Click here for a template to print these can covers or you can simply use scrapbook paper {this is my choice as I like to save on my printer ink}. Here are a couple that I made: IMG_2117 IMG_2121 The only thing to know is that it works best to leave the silver lip showing on the top and the bottom. It looks cute and the paper will lay flat against the rest of the can. IMG_2125 And here just adding sand and sparklers to clear jars or vases is adorable. You could run them down the length of the table. Looks like Martha may have stamped a runner with red and blue designs. You could even use white butcher paper down the middle of the table. Easy!   By clicking right here you will be able to choose red or blue and print out these adorable cone wrappers. If you are out and about and can’t have ice cream, you could fill the cones with popcorn or jelly beans as a fireworks watching treat! ………………………………………………………………………. Thanks for stopping by the first Take 5 Tuesday! Hope you found some quick inspiration. If you would like one of your easy ideas featured you may email me at athoughtfulplaceblog@gmail.com  Please include “Take 5” in the subject line! Have a great day! Don't I wish I had even an *ounce* of creativity when it comes to this stuff…Sadly, I do not…that is why I come here! No thinking required and I get tons of fabulous Par-tay inspiration. Thanks, Court, you're a doll! (c:
