The good stuff just keeps on coming! Today we have Emily, April, and Carmel showing us quick and creative projects. Let’s get things started with Carmel from Our Fifth House: Idea #1: Adding Decorative Trim to Curtains Carmel and I hit if off the second we met in Bog land! But the deal was sealed when I stumbled upon a comment she had made about her favorite Chinese restaurant . . . it happened to be The Peking Dragon in Dana Point, California which I have been going to for years! It really is a small world seeing as though sweet Carmel lives in the South. Carmel is super talented and has done AMAZING things in her home. This five minute project can be completed with just using a glue gun! I love that. Carmel recommends using a low temperature glue gun. You can use any trim you like and the nice thing is that because you are using the glue gun, they can be changed anytime as well. In her original post, she will also show you hos to create a more custom look by pinching the curtains from behind when you hang them. It gives the illusion of pleats. And for those of you who love Legally Blonde as much as I do, she gives a great reference to it in her post. BEFORE After Such a great custom look in a really short amount of time! Thanks, Carmel. Idea #2: Earring Organizer April from a kitchen table for two came up with a very creative solution to the lost earring syndrome. We have all been there. Frantically trying to find the mate to your other earring. Well, talk about an easy fix. She went from this: To this: One mesh wire basket and you are ready to go! Thanks, April! Idea #3: Fabric Covered Canvas I had so much fun meeting up with Emily from Name 5 Things just a couple of months ago. She is as sweet as you would imagine. And the girl loves all things related to décor and making lists . . .um, hello!!? That’s right up my alley! Today she is sharing a quick way to add art to your wall. By simply covering a piece of canvas in fabric, you can instantly change the feel of a space. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Just get a store bought canvas that fits your space (or several of them to group), and then get enough yardage of your favorite fabric and wrap it around the canvas. Staple it in place, cut off any excess fabric, and then hang. If you’re using fabric with a geometric pattern, double check that the pattern is straight before stapling. Really, this project couldn’t be any easier! The best part is that you can easily change out the fabric as your room changes or as your tastes change! Emily, I love that fabric! I would love to make some pillows out of that. And this is a great way to use a fabric you love somewhere in a space . . . maybe even that expensive piece of fabric you have your eye on but can’t afford to go with too many yards. This would add a lot to any room. Thanks, Emily {loving those nesting tables, too!} ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Thanks, Ladies. Tomorrow is the last day of the Take Five Series. Come on back for more quick projects to transform your home. If you missed any of the ideas, you can find them by clicking on the button below!

I really love your Take 5 series! You should do them on a regular basis! It helps us people who are decoratively challenged to still have a stylish space with little to no experience!
