Vegetable Cocktail

December 20, 2010 by Courtney 24 Comments

So a very dear friend of mine had a Christmas party this weekend and served these adorable Vegetable Cocktails as an appetizer. I had never seen them before. You can toss in whichever veggies you like and they sit in a cute bowl or cup with dressing on the bottom. How clever. And your guests can double dip as much as they like because it’s their very own veggie cocktail. Now this I can do!                                                                      image via yumsugar.com From what I gather, the veggies normally sit in a Green Goddess Dip {also new to me!}. You can make the Green Goddess dressing from this recipe found at Food & Wine. Or if you are more my speed, you’ll find your favorite dressing and buy it from the store!!! I will say that I am a sucker for The Cheesecake Factory’s blue cheese dressing. You can buy a jar of it at the restaurant and this might just be an excuse to do so. So my shopping is done and now it’s time for some wrapping. My favorite part. Hope you are all enjoying these days before Christmas with your friends and family!

What a novel idea with the vegies. I think it could be great for a bit of panache to serve up to the kids. Jinx, I'm finished the shopping and at the wrapping stage which I enjoy the most. I've decided though for my 2011 resolution to be more organised and get things done earlier than this next year! 🙂 Happy wrapping!!

Hmmmmmm – I like vegetables all over the year! Do you know "empanadas"? Nearly wraps, but closed and also filled with a mixture of meat and vegetables. Wraps and empanadas are perfect to consume remains 😉

    Love

so cute!! I saw this on another blog last week and she used little plastic cups with celery stalks in them (you know the cups you used for jello shots back in the day?)

Great idea for kids party too!

What a seriously great idea. I hate how the veggies roll off your plate, and you can't quite get enough dip on them. Problem solved!

I love this idea! At my sister's halloween party, they served shrimp shooters. Little salad shrimps in cocktail sause in little plastic shot glasses. Individual servings are great…..

Love that idea! My girlfriend makes individual shrimp cocktails in plastic shot glasses, she puts cocktail sauce in the bottom and hangs 1-2 shrimp from the top of the cup. Still have a little shoppingto do, but what's been bought has already been wrapped.
