It’s my favorite day of the week around here as it is Which One Wednesday and you get to tell me what you think I should do in our master bathroom makeover. If you have missed the previous choices from my Just Four Things series, we began with the countertops and mirror frame. I have to say that you all threw me for a loop last week when the overwhelming majority chose the simple frame for our mirror. I didn’t see that one coming! This week we are looking at the lighting situation. I will be keeping the chandelier above the bathtub but want to swap out the current lighting over our sinks. Will you help cast a vote for your choice? …………………………a look at the current lighting Keep in mind we will be framing out the mirror in silver as well as switching up the countertops {in most likely something that resembles marble or a light gray and white granite} We are changing the following four things: Countertops Frame the Mirror Lighting Faucets Here is a little mood board of what is already going on in the space so you can get a better idea of what will be staying. …………………………….…here’s what’s staying Also important to know that I will most likely change the finish on the chandy. Either a polished chrome or a pop of color. Choice #1 covington hotel triple sconce from Pottery Barn Choice #2 campaign triple sconce restoration hardware So what would you do? Which one is your favorite? Please cast a vote. I truly love hearing your opinions and was swayed by many of you with the mirror choice!
Laura & Adam says
Number one. Two looks like it could be outdated soon
Lisa at Shine Your Light says
I like the classic look of the shades on #2…..but I wonder which one casts better light for putting on makeup and whatnot? Your bathroom is already so pretty – can't wait to see the changes you make!
Sheri says
I like number 2 if it give off enough light for the bathroom.
natasha {schue love} says
I'm drawn to #2…little different and unexpected in the bathroom!
Kim @ Plumberry Pie says
#2, flows with current chandy nicely.
Beesmama says
Number one-classic!
Jennifer {The Chronicles of Home} says
I like #1…but then I'm usually drawn to things that look "carved" with ball detail!
Marissa@ohhhsolovely says
i'm a fan of choice #2. anything with small lampshades is so nice!
Lori says
I like number two better, but you'd have to be sure that the shades don't make the light too dim. Good, bright lighting is super important in a bathroom.
ournextgreatadventure says
I love #1. Would choice #2's shade hold up in the moisture of a bathroom?
Meghan says
I prefer #1
17 Perth says
I love choice 1. I currently have those shades from choice 2—and although cute—I do wonder if they would hold up in the bathroom as well?
Amy says
They're both beautiful, but I'm drawn to #1!
Domesticable says
Option 1 is best! Trust me. It's fabulous.

Between You and Me says
definitely # 1. 🙂
Erin {Home Everyday} says
I like the Pottery Barn one! It is classic and gorgeous. The second one is equally pretty, but I'm not sure how I would feel about those cloth shades in a place that can get a lot of moisture like a steamy shower. Also, I'd be afraid that spraying hair products or something would wear them out over time. That's just me over thinking as usual.
Cubby says
I just love this series!!! I'm drawn to #2, but only if it can cast enough light, as others have already said. Can't wait to see which one you choose!
Nancy says
i cast my vote for #2 without a doubt…good luck whatever you choose.
Kenzie says
I love both.. but I say#1, wondering how much light #2 will really give and also, are they easy to maintain? Is that a cloth lamp shade?
Page Cole says
#1 – I think it just looks more attractive and will hold up better under bathroom conditions.
Katherine Martin says
I prefer #1 to #2. I also think that #2 would be too high – the shades might be close to the ceiling since your current light fixture is installed fairly high.

Carmel @ Our Fifth House says
hmmmmm……i like them both – is that bad? can't go wrong either.
Carmel @ Our Fifth House says
that should be "with either" 😉
Holli says
I prefer option #1.
Meredith says
I like #2 – a little unexpected…
Kristen | Cottage Modern says
I would choose #1. I recently installed Pottery Barn sconces in my own bathroom, and am really happy with the quality. Also, with the Restoration light, I would worry that the bathroom "lint" and grime would stick to the cloth shades and be hard to maintain/clean over time.
Jo Ann says
I love #1.
Carolyn says
I honestly like them both, but the 'ballness' of 1 might go with your chandy better?
stephy213 says
I would choose #1. Choice 2 is cute, but I just prefer the first one the best.
Big D and Me says
Love #1
MegArtherton says
I really like #1. It's elegant and charming.
Sarah Cutler says
#1
Bonnie says
I'm sensitive to direct lightbulb light, so I'd worry about both of them glaring in my eyes and giving me migraines.
As far as style goes, definitely number 1. Number 2 looks dated.
beckyj @ A Lazy Crazy Life says
Choice #1, all the way. The curvy lines seem like a better fit with the chandy.
Katie says
They are both great and I would be happy with either in my own home. 🙂 But I lean towards #1.
Kristin says
Number 1. The shades on #2 will get so linty/dusty.
Aubrey {All Things Bright and Beautiful} says
Oooo…I gotta say the PB hotel is stealing my heart…it's going to be so gorgeous in there! And I have to admit that I'm most excited about the chandy makeover…please tell me you're going with color! I *love* that idea! Of course, I don't have to see it day in and day out, so I might be a little gung-ho on the whole color thingy (c:
Heather @ my peanut butter cups says
They're both pretty and timeless, so I don't think you can grow wrong. But I thought the same thing as another commenter — would choice #1 work better considering how high the current light placement is? Just food for thought… 🙂 Happy Wednesday!
Jenny says
I love number 1. I like how the round ball shape mimics the ball on the chandelier. I also prefer the glass over the shades. Number 1 all the way! 🙂
Andrea B. says
Number 1, I just think number 2 would be a nightmare to keep clean.
KJY says
Number 1, looks much more modern and classic than number 2.
Allison says
I like both but am leaning towards #1. It will be fun to see what you decide!
Megan {Honey We're Home} says
Ah- these choices are so hard! I think I like #2 best, but they are both so pretty! Based on where your current lights are, does that make a difference as to which will fit better, i.e. the lights facing up or down? Make sense?? 🙂
Megan {Honey We're Home} says
You know I'm really terrible at these choices because I would probably buy both, then see which one I liked in the space better, then return the other one! 🙂 Terrible, I know!
Megan {Honey We're Home} says
And I do a lot of returning! Ok, sorry for all the comments!!
hersplitends.com says
Number 1 for shiz!!
Cheers

Jessica B. says
I like #1! Matches your chand nicely without being too matchy. 🙂
Holly says
Choice number 2 is my fav! It has a updated classic feel. But either one will be beeeyouteefull!
Kathleen Richardson says
Choice #1. To me, it seems to fit the existing decor better than #2. Also, #2 shades look like typical textured lampshades and it seems to me they would be more difficult to keep clean and would wear out faster.
Keep writing…
Lisa Ferraro says
Choice #1. The curved lines of it tie in to the chandelier.
Sam says
Number 1 definitely. the round lines of that fixture match the curves of the chandelier better. #2 is too square.
Lisa Ferraro says
Choice #1. The curved lines of it tie in to the chandelier.
pinkie98 says
I'd say #1 – they are both really cute but like others have said #1 will most likely give off more light and will really help both light fixtures in the bathroom stand out. I feel like #2 is a tad too similar to the chandelier and that wouldn't make them stand apart as much.
Tiffany says
#1! I like the detail of it, and since you already went with a simpler mirror, I think you need the interest.
emily says
I'd have to go with number 2! Both great choices though!
Kerri says
Both are lovely and your taste is beautiful. If you're thinking of staying with this fixture for a few years, think about how the changing lightbulbs (away from incandescent to CFL) might affect the look and function. You might look up and into a strange bulb with the PB ones, but you might not be able to use the shades properly with the RH ones. I have those RH shades on Lugarno fixtures in my master and the shades can be frustratingly crooked no matter how carefully I think I have put them on. Looking forward to your reveal soon! ps Go Irish
