Wrapping with Style

February 3, 2011 by Courtney 30 Comments

This is sort of a two part post today! I was without children for a couple of hours which is super rare. What’s a girl to do? Go shopping! I happened to stroll into Forever 21 {even though I am at least a couple of years past 21 . . . but who’s counting}. Hello, cute and inexpensive accessories. I have always been a fan of their flowers, but I was especially happy with what they have going on right now. Take a look: IMG_9382 This fun little number was only $10. I love that. With a white tee or tank for spring and a fun skirt . . . pretty cute.  IMG_9383IMG_9384 Then there are the cute flower clips. I have a tray of different ones in my closet from various stores. I love that they can be clipped at the side of pony tail, to a scarf, on a tank, or even on a jacket. They instantly add color. The best part is that these little beauties are $1.50.  And for $1.50 I wouldn’t want to imagine making one myself. IMG_9386 IMG_9387IMG_9389 My new use for them is clipping them to a gift. So much better than a bow since the recipient can reuse them. I always stick to white gift totes so no matter what you find to add to the present, it always pops. The Target dollar section is a great place to pick up fun printed or colorful tissue. IMG_9394IMG_9396IMG_9400 I think that the wrapping of a gift is just as special as the gift. So what about you? Do you have any fun, inexpensive ideas to attach to your gifts? Are you wearing any of these flowers?

I love the idea of clipping them to a suit or blouse. I may have to drop in there myself.

Love this. So pretty. I save all of our Christmas cards and cut the fronts off. The following year I use those for tags. It makes for a very eclectic look when all of the packages are together but some of cards are just too pretty to throw out so I like that I can re-use them.

Courtney, I just love those flower pins; unfortunately here in rural PA we have neither a Forever 21 OR a Target!!

Going to F21 at lunch now. Adorbs. Glad to know I'm not the only one who shops at places where I think they play the music too loud. We're old farts.

So brilliant! I *love* the gift idea! That really makes it a little more special and I've never been a big fan of those ribbon bows…call me crazy (everyone does)…I usually don't have the patience for Forever 21 (the mess in there gives me hives), but for those cuties, Ima gonna brave it! (c:

Very cute! I have a few of those flower pins/hair clips just sitting around but think they'd be awesome on a gift.
I use the Sunday comics (color section) to wrap gifts in, only for kids, though. Not a fan of store bought wrapping paper and using the funnies has been a tradition in my family for years.

I bought some headbands there and couldn't believe how inexpensive they were. I am trying to do some different things and bought a few of the flower clips too.

I love F21 accessories! Best place for big statement necklaces. Great idea, of course bc it's yours!, to clip the flowers to bags. I like to cluster several of them on a cardi too.

and your new pillows are going to be great…can't wait to see!

Man I can't remember the last time I was in "Forever 21", but I'm dying over that $10 necklace so I obviously need to make more of an effort to go in there : )

Love the flower clip idea, I'd be so excited if I got one of those pretties on a present!

I love that idea! I've only been in Forever 21 once and was so overwhelmed I wanted to pass out. I may have to make an exception and go back for those cute flower clips!

Great idea! I love flowers in my hair, on a purse, gift bag…ya know, pretty much everywhere! Sometimes I'll make a little flower out of tissue paper and put it on the outside of a gift bag. Or just attach a brightly colored lollipop!
