Every time I share my chocolate protein smoothie I get asked, “But does it taste good?” Yes! Definitely, yes. But I will be the first to admit that most clean protein powders taste pretty bad. With this combination of ingredients, I feel like I have cracked the code and this smoothie drink literally tastes like dessert. In fact, if you made it a little bit thicker it would taste just like a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. Here is the simple recipe in case you want to get an extra grams of protein here and there.
EASY CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER PROTEIN SMOOTHIE
THE INGREDIENTS
The chocolate protein powder I buy is by Be Well By Kelly. They have a grass fed protein powder and a vegan option. I also really like this organic plant based one and it comes in so many flavors. I trust the ingredients and with both of these brands, so they, but there are so many options out there so go with what is best for you. And while the half of a banana is optional, it really is so good in this recipe.
Easy Chocolate Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup ice
- 1 cup nut milk of your choice any milk works, I use almond milk
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 tbsp organic peanut butter peanuts should be the only ingredient
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 ripe banana *optional but really yummy
Instructions
-
Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth. Delicious.
-
If you want it to be thicker, reduce the amount of milk.
*using a frozen 1/2 banana will make it extra creamy and thick . . . so good
Every time I make it tastes like a scrumptious decadent dessert and yet it’s full of clean ingredients with 28 grams of protein and no added sugar. It satisfies my sweet craving for sure. Let me know if you try it. And like with anything, you can certainly add in other ingredients (chia seeds, etc.) to make it your own.
*We love these glass straws.
Craving more healthy snacks, I have two in this post along with tips for the tournament weekends so many parents find themselves at. Make it a great day.

Is it the Be Well by Kelly grass fed beef protein that you use? I have never used beef protein for smoothies, always whey protein.

Do you do fruit smoothies with the beef protein? I can only imagine that doesn’t taste real great…
