Giveaway: Black & Decker

July 11, 2011 by Courtney 189 Comments

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We managed to do everything on our list except for making cupcakes. Instead, the children are proud owners of a new goldfish. It’s our very first pet and my five year old spent most of her weekend sitting and chatting with the fish. She sure had a lot to say! And the cutest thing is that she is so excited about having this fish that she kept saying, “This is so exciting, it’s like I am dreaming.” {We did have the talk about goldfish not having the longest lifespan . . . oh boy, this should be interesting!} …………………………………………………………. giveawayimage2 In other news that is much more exciting to my readers, I have a fantastic giveaway today! When the lovely people from Black and Decker contacted me about receiving their new Steam-Mop with SmartSelect ™ Technology and giving one to my readers, I was beyond excited. We are still in the spilling milk phase over here and mama can use all the help she can get! And the best part for me is that the pads are washable and reusable. So easy. So now it’s your turn! Would you like one? There is a setting for each type of floor. . . I love the way it cleaned my hardwoods. Check out the mop for yourself and then enter with your comments below.

The biggest mess I ever had to tackle was when my son had a stomach bug. For some reason, he panics and can't make himself run for the bathroom. He just leaned over the side of his bed and let it fly (EW!). Unfortunately, at the time, he was sleeping in a Captain's Bed, so it was in the frame, in the drawers, on the floor and UNDER the bed. Not a drop on him or the sheets. YUK!

I had a dog with severe anxiety who was fine if she was in her crate. We left the house and forgot to put her in. When we returned we thought we had been robbed! She got into cabinets, trash, knocked over lamps, spread food throughout the house, ate a cushion, and ripped up a ream of paper! It was crazy!

    What a great giveaway!

The mess that comes to mind – one Thanksgiving our dog licked up A LOT of turkey grease from the bottom of the roasting pan (he's a very big dog and was able to get to it even on the counter) and then ended up throwing all of it up on our living room carpet. Grease + vomit = permanent disgusting stain.

W O R S T mess ever!! on my light gray carpet!!(which was only 2 years old). That was 5 years ago.. Needless to say, paint doesn't totally come out of carpet and we haven't had the money to replace it. We tried EVERYThing, it only has lightened.

The biggest mess I ever had to tackle was when I was pet-sitting for my friend's new puppy, and the little guy was so rambunctious he knocked over one of those huge red bottles of wine I had won at an auction. I had just moved in to my house and the walls had fresh paint, and the tile grout literally finished drying the day before. It took me about 2 days worth of cleaning products to clean it all!

Oh, this would be heaven for our hardwoods!

The biggest (most disgusting) mess I've ever had to clean was in our ALL WHITE kitchen. We came home to find the dog had a cut on her tail and every time she wagged it (which is A LOT when we walk in the door), it whacked up against the cupboards, oven, etc. There was splattered blood from floor to ceiling. It seriously looked like a murder scene. NASTY!

This is a great giveaway..I sure could have used it on the biggest mess I had to clean up. Well, my two dogs one night decided (I guess) that they were upset with me (I had family in town and they didn't get their usual run/walk for an hour). So, I went to dinner and came home to two dogs who had ripped open (from our open pantry) a brand new bag of flour, sugar, box of sea salt, and two boxes of pasta. Oh yeah–and they got two packages of muffin mix. Lovely. Literally, crunching occurred when you walked through the whole house….and my navy couches were white. It was awesome. Haha. Took me a good 4 or 5 hours to clean up. I could have really used the black and decker then! I spent the first 30 minutes taking photos of my house because I knew no one would believe how bad it actually was….you should see the pictures….Haha…too funny!

Well, I'm pregnant with my first child so I don't think any mess I've had to deal with has been too bad thus far. So I'm going to have to go with cleaning up an indoor plant that my lovely cat decided to knock over while I was at work one day, onto the beige carpet in our old apartment. Nothing like wet, black, potting soil all over the carpet!

I had all of Christmas decorations up in my living room, and I had just bought a new PB slipcover for my couch. One squeeze too hard on the bottle, and it exploded!!! It was all over my rug, my slipcover, my Christmas tree, my coffee table, and my floor. Freak out is an understatement!

I didn't know at the time that starch was not good for the disposal, so I was feeding away when it had finally had enough! I had ground peels all over the kitchen and down the hallway from the ceiling to the floor and everywhere in between! We had a house guest, neither of us knew where to start, so I started cleaning and our friend opened a bottle of wine! What a mess I had!

Biggest mess was last summer when the back terrace of my condo building was sanded down and resurfaced. Even though the contractor covered all the windows with plastic, the dust from the sanding was literally on everything inside. It took weeks to get it clean.

It's hard to pick just one mess that I've had to clean up. I guess it would be cleaning out the house that we purchased prior to ever being able to move in. There were so many piles of things left behind that it took a few days before we could even think about moving in.

The biggest mess I've had to clean up was when my mom was helping me make plum jelly. She hung the cheesecloth with all the plums from the handles of my cupboards in the kitchen, but the handle that she used didn't hold. He whole bag of cheesecloth and plums splashed back into the bowl of plums and got juice EVERYWHERE. My kitchen floor was still sticky after mopping it three times!

Oooh, I think I would like one of those! I'm not sure if it's the BIGGEST mess I've ever had to clean up, but the one that's freshest in my memory is when my 2-year-old walked all over the living room with his brother's cup of milk, shaking it as he went. It was one of those cups with a supposedly non-spill straw. Well, when you shake the thing up and down, milk will come out. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of drops of milk on every surface. Yuck.
