Let’s do this, Monday! It’s a cloudy and cool day here today but I woke up determined to start the week off on the right foot. With all of the unknown and worry as of late, I’ve lost track of my gratitude practice. Definitely turning that around and making that a priority. It makes a world of difference. Sharing a bit of what we’ve been up to over the last couple of weeks in our Monday Morning Wrap-Up.
FATHER’S DAY
Last Monday I posted about our Zion trip so I didn’t have a chance to share about Father’s Day. It was the day after we returned from the road trip and to say we were exhausted would be a vast understatement. But this man deserves the world. He is an incredible father who puts us all first no matter what. Plus he is just straight up fun to be around. He is my calm and my best friend. The hardest thing for me to wrap my head around is how much older my children look. Weren’t they just 2 and 4?
DANA POINT HARBOR
If you are local, Dana Point Harbor is a wonderful place to spend time. They just redid much of it and it’s always a peaceful and pretty spot. We love to grab ice cream and walk to see all of the boats. Waterman’s is a wonderful restaurant and one that is perfect for celebrating special occasions. It was a favorite of my dad’s so we headed there in his honor to celebrate both him and my husband. This was the view from our table.
EMPTY TABLE
Speaking of tables, this empty table has hit my hard lately. For the last three months, my son used this for his school work and as his “office” so it was never cleared off. But now that it’s summer and we aren’t entertaining, I walk by and take note of how long it’s been since we’ve had a big gathering. I miss those so much. The house buzzing with people, the laughter, the loud debates, the kids running around, and even the inevitable mess afterwards. Are you feeling the same way? I guess that is when we have to revert to the practice of gratitude and be thankful for all of those great memories. And hopeful for more evenings like that in the near future.
BUFFALO CHECK STOOLS
This past week I had to run my daughter to volleyball and I popped into the At Home store near me. It was my first time going in and to be honest, it is so large it completely overwhelmed me. In fact I sort of walked in and then out, but I did spot these cute buffalo check ottomans. They would look awesome in pretty much any warm and cozy space. Great for a playroom or a child’s bedroom.
HOME GROWN
All the credit goes to my husband for these fresh tomatoes. He started a garden a while back and it’s doing so well. I wish I had the green thumb and the patience but sadly it’s just not my thing. I’m learning from him and boy do we appreciate the fresh vegetables. Are you gardening these days, too? If so, tell me what your favorite thing to grow is in the comments below.
AMAZING DESSERTS
A dear friend of mine picked these up to celebrate my birthday. If you are local, there is a gal in Coto de Caza that started Coto Cakes and they are UNREAL. These homemade desserts were outstanding. I kept thinking of my sweet mom who loved all things dessert. This would have been heaven on Earth for her.
BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATION

I wanted to leave you with beautiful design inspiration today. When I saw this darling space I felt my body exhale. This office belongs to Loni Parker, the editor of Adore Magazine. It’s just so beautiful and calming. That striped awning is perfection. While it’s a small space, it is designed perfectly. I wouldn’t mind grabbing my morning coffee and heading into these doors to work. Do you think they would mind?
Here’s to making this Monday a great day. xo
