Morning. How was your weekend? My boys were in Omaha for a hockey trip so it was wonderful having them walk through the door last night. The endured temps down to -20° which is pretty crazy. This winter weather is no joke. How is the weather where you are? Sharing a bit of what life has looked like with this week’s Monday Morning Wrap Up.
SNOW AND SUNSHINE
Well this has been our view for over 8 days now. It’s been glorious and we hoped for snow but now that much of it is ice, we are ready for it to melt. I still pinch myself that we get all four seasons here. There is something about it that I absolutely love. But it’s easier for us to deal with the snow because we no longer have little ones. The kids have been living their best lives with no school and plenty of time sledding.
And while the snow has been beautiful, the ice on the roads is just so dangerous. All of the main roads are great, but driveways and back roads are pretty treacherous. So that glorious sun shining in and higher temps are a welcome site today.
When I shared this photo on stories, I had questions about our paint colors in here. The trim and walls are both Alabaster by Sherwin Williams. The trim reads more white and the walls creamier due to the sheen. The trim is semi-gloss and the walls are eggshell. The two vases have added so much texture to the marble table. The small vase is a Target find and the larger one is from Pottery Barn.
BEST LITTLE LAMP
The crazy weather became a little more eventful when I walked in to our room to find water dripping from the ceiling. Sigh. Not sure if it’s a sign of age or what but nothing in me panicked. It was a welcome change. We quickly realized it was bit of ice damming on the roof. We turned off the electricity and my husband headed up to the attic to handle it. In doing so, my closet was pitch dark (attic access) so I brought in this outdoor lamp. It saved the day!! So much light. The white dresser is a favorite find off of Amazon.
And I am actually looking for a more delicate solar light to put in here now. I’ve discovered that it’s really lovely to have soft, dim light at night rather than turning on all the bright lights. This one sure is cute.
SALSA VERDE SOUP
This is on deck for tonight’s dinner. Beyond easy to make and we almost always have these ingredients on hand. Highly recommend this Salsa Verde Chicken Soup.
FAVORITE PURCHASE
A few of you reached out to tell me how much you love the drapery tape I posted about. It really is a game changer. Before having it, these drapery panels were very hard to open and close (always got stuck on the seam in the rod). The tape is such a simple solution (and genius).
You just place the tape on top of the rod (you definitely can’t see it up there) and then the drapes glide right across. Best invention. Grab some here.
If you are somewhere cold, I am wishing you a nice dose of sunshine and blue skies. Have a great start to your week. If you missed the latest edition of Saturday Shopping you can check that out here.(shared my duaghter’s picks).

Thanks for sharing that drapery tape! I have the same issue with the shower curtain in my daughter’s bathroom. It drives me crazy trying to open it and it gets stuck on the seam!

Would the tape work on a curved shower rod? Is it flexible enough?

The drapery tape is amazing, makes opening/closing the drapes so smooth and quiet! Already recommended to a friend. Thanks for sharing!
