Happy Monday. Coming in a little bit late today because I went to bible study this morning. I was exhausted from not having slept last night, but I forced myself to go and I am so thankfuI that I did. It was just what I needed. Being surrounded by believers who accept you for who you are and pray over one another is life giving. And a welcome sense of community in a world that needs just that. More love, less hate. More compassion, less accusation. My faith in God is steadfast and has proven to sustain me time and time again. And for that I am immensely grateful. Just as I am grateful for all of you. Thank you for being here.

MUCH NEEDED QUIET TIME
My anxiety has been front and center lately so to combat that, I try and spend as much quiet time outdoors. I turn off the noise. No phone, no music. . . just me and the sounds of nature. It’s time I can pray and simply be in the stillness. Focusing on my priorities . . . family and faith. Sometimes it just takes slowing down my nervous system. A good hike on the trails does it, too. What works for you?
DOWNTOWN FRANKLIN
Ryan and I spent some time in Downtown Franklin this weekend. The weather was warm and beautiful. The thing that keeps hitting me is that we’ve reached the stage where we find ourselves without the kids most of the time. I know it’s a natural progression of life but it doesn’t make it any easier. It’s also the reason we have never stopped dating. So important to nurture the marriage throughout all the stages of life.
NEW SPOT IN TOWN
If you are near Downtown Franklin, the Leiper’s Fork Distillery House of Spirits has been open for about a month. Great menu (mainly appetizers) and cocktails. Sparkling water with mint is my go-to if I am not drinking. The decor is beautiful and overall such great vibe. Whoever designed it knocked it out of the ballpark. . . great use of space and so welcoming.

WINDOW SHOPPING
We ducked into some of the stores and I found this darling handbag. Not sure what it is about this bag, but I love it. I think the cute gold buckle has a lot to do with it. And it’s a design you don’t see everywhere. It has a smaller zippered pouch inside as well (removable).
SNEAKER LOVE
This Gola sneakers caught my eye. Love the leopard with the blue.
I didn’t know I needed a pair of chocolate brown sneakers until I saw these. LOVE THEM!! Crazy comfy and under $30. Will be cute with my chocolate brown winter coat.
BIG SALE
Wayfair has a huge sale going on right now. This rug has been one of my favorite purchases. My sister just built a beautiful home and she has this rug in her family room as well. It’s soft underfoot and the colors are so pretty. (now on sale).

Good Afternoon. My favorite place to reconnect with the Lord is in nature. Our backyard is not very large but we have wonderful colorful plants and a bird feeder. I love to listen to the birds chirping and we have a bell that often chimes in the breeze. To me it feels like a sweet affirmation from God. He loves to listen to us and I’m so grateful.

My husband and I spent a week touring Tennessee and were in Franklin this past Friday. A charming town. We enjoyed the cute shops and visited Leipers Fork distillery.

I have learned that our cortisol spikes within 30 minutes of waking up (Dr Stacy Simms) and that eating protein within 30 minutes can help you avoid that happening. Check her out!
