Monday Morning Wrap Up

September 29, 2025 by Courtney 2 Comments

There was actually a chill in the air this morning which felt dreamy. I love when I can sit outside on the porch with a blanket. It’s the little things in life and that is one of them. I hope your morning has started off well. Thank you for stopping in. Here is a bit of life lately with the Monday Morning Wrap Up.

STARTING SOMEWHERE

garden

Not gonna lie, I look at other people’s huge gardens with such admiration. While I aspire to grow our own food I know absolutely nothing about it so we are starting small. I figure a baby step is better than being stagnant. I found a local craftsman who make cedar garden boxes. Perfect place to start. We’ve planted a couple of herbs, arugula and romaine. I’ll keep you posted!

BACK AT IT!!!!

hockey

The hockey season is in full swing and I am so excited. They had a great win to kick things off. When Grady walked away from club and chose to focus on high school hockey we were all surprised but it’s been the best decision ever. He loves playing and has not missed the travel one bit. We have a wonderful group of parents as well. Makes watching and cheering for the boys so special. As a senior mom, you better believe I am enjoying every last second of him on the ice.

HOMEGOODS FIND

frames

If you are in need of gallery frames, Homegoods has an amazing selection right now. These have beautiful trim and a warm wood tone. Really good.

HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES

parade

I may or may not be the mom tearing up at all of these events. I just love our town so much and I distinctly remember watching our daughter in her first parade when we moved here. This school has been wonderful for the kids and we are so grateful. Although our poor hockey boys. . . after weeks of working on their float, it fell off of the flatbed in transit to the parade! It was so sad but they still had a great time riding on their very empty flatbed. Memorable to say the least.

FOOTBALL FRIDAYS

football

Always nice catching these high school football games and cheering on our friends’ boys. Nothing says fall like Friday Night Lights.

GO IRISH

nd watch

The basement has become our favorite spot to host a game watch. I grew up watching college football with my family on Saturdays and we have continued that tradition. Do you have a team you love cheering for?

Still loving the cabinets we chose for this wall. You can’t beat the price on these. Also really happy with the swivel chairs that go in and out of stock.

NEW HANDBAG

How cute is this? It comes with the fun scarf and is available in white and black, too. I love that it has the long strap to wear crossbody but also has a smaller one you can carry it by or put over your forearm. It’s currently on sale for $29! It’s so similar to this one from Nordstrom that sales for $1200!

If you prefer real leather, this is a very nice option at $120. It’s available in three color options.

SIMPLE FALL GARLAND

fall garland

I bought these garlands a couple years back. They are very simple but each year I am so happy to pull them out. They add just enough of a fall touch. Last year I hung this pretty velvet ribbon from them. Both are linked here.

PORCH MAKEOVER

fall wreath

I am slowly turning the porch over to the fall season. I need to go grab some pumpkins. We always buy mums from our sweet neighbor (for girl scouts) but I struggle with keeping them alive. I did soak them all for 30 minutes but wish me luck. Pumpkins are easier to take care of! These wreaths were from Target last year (this is the wreath from the current collection). I also like this one from Amazon.

GAP SALE 50% OFF

gap sale

Heads up that GAP is a hosting a 50% off sale. These super soft sweater tops are ideal for fall. Definitely size up! Marked down to $29.

And I thought of Riley with these skorts. I know it’s so hard to find clothes for tweens and teens. This is really cute and 50% off.

Likewise, I thought this one was really cute, too. Fun to pair with a long sleeve tee or sweater. It’s usually $80 and now $39.

*If you missed Saturday Shopping you can take a look here. So many cute finds.

Off to grab what I need from the grocery store to bake cookies. We are hosting the hockey team tonight and while we are picking up the dinner, I thought it would be nice to have something homemade. Wishing you a really great start to the week, my friend.

I would love to grow more of our own food too. I’ve had luck with growing rosemary and basil – a lemon tree is next on my list.

We cannot keep pumpkins outside at all. The squirrels just devour them. I see other neighbors giving it a try, but I just cannot get myself to provide a buffet for the critters.

I cannot wait for hockey season to start!
