Good morning. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Waking up so grateful to have a full house this morning. It feels like Christmas and I love it. Sharing a simple recipe, my secret to mums, and life lately in this week’s edition of the Monday Morning Wrap Up.
IT’S A MIRACLE
My mums are still alive!! While I have mum envy when I see any porch or home filled with them, I’ve learned something about myself: I don’t like taking care of them. But I’ve learned to never water them from the top. I have a bowl and I fill it with water. I place one in the bowl and the next day I refresh the bowl and set the other one in it. So far so good and they are continuing to bloom. What I need to do is buy those little trays you can set planters in. Next time I pop into Home Depot I will pick up a couple of those, but for now my bowl is working well.
FALL WEATHER
It’s the best when we sit outside in the morning and need blankets. The trees are starting to change and it’s so peaceful to begin the day like this. I used to journal every morning out here and have gotten out of the habit. It’s time to bring that back into practice. It’s a great way to being the day before opening my phone.
INCREDIBLE STORY
ND had a big win this weekend. But even if you are not a big Irish fan, the story of Jeremiyah Love is truly incredible. I’ve linked it here. If you have a child who could possible be on the spectrum or maybe just beats to their own drum, this story if for you. Love it.
FROM OUR GARDEN
Our basil has taken off! It’s so fun to be able to pick fresh basil to use for pesto, on pasta or in a yummy salad dressing. Love the smell of basil in the kitchen.
GARLIC BASIL DRESSING
For this scrumptious dressing blend the following:
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 apple cider vinegar
- 1 clover garlic
- pinch of sea salt
- a few cracks of pepper
- 1/2 cup packed fresh basil

By the way, I have used this cake stand every single day since I bought it. It just looks so pretty on the counter. I have it in the photo above holding the dressing. But I’ve used it for veggies, resting my cookbook, serving, etc. It’s so good and a wonderful holiday gift idea. I may buy a couple more to have on hand for hostess gifts.
SPOTTED AT TARGET
This caught my eye immediately. I haven’t found it online yet, but if you pop in to your local store be sure to take a look. It’s darling!
This sweater top is unbelievably soft. It comes in a few colors. Great on it’s own or paired under a blazer or jacket. Really cute and $22.
AGING HANDS?
I was starting to notice my hands were looking rough. This was recommended to me and it’s incredible. I use a tiny bit each day and in two weeks my hands are incredibly soft. I’ve noticed a significant difference, especially in the texture of the skin. Love this hand serum so much.

COFFEE & SHOPPING WITH MY GIRL
We are over the moon to have Riley home this week. Having everyone under one roof feels incredible. If you have had kiddos move away you know exactly what I mean. Can’t wait to hit up some of her favorite coffee spots (Hanks for sure) and do a little shopping. Savoring every second with her.
