Let’s do this, Monday. I started the day with a long walk and am ready to hit the ground running. How are you doing? We have beautiful blue skies today so it feels good to get a preview of spring. I feel like we’ve earned it this year! Here is a recap with our Monday Morning Wrap Up.
A SWEET THROW BACK
Some of you may recognize this dining room from our California home. I loved setting tables in this space. This one was a tribute to my mom. It made me realize that in this season of life I have set fewer fancy tables. . . but the gathering around the table is still the same. Such an important part of life. We’ve always said that this is where the good stuff happens. The deeper conversations, healthy debate, important questions and lots of laughter.
DOORS OPEN KIND OF DAY
The weather has been glorious so we’ve had the doors open lately. It feels wonderful to have the fresh air after that record setting ice storm. Spring is tempting us and I am here for it. Bring on the sunshine and bright blue skies.

MY VALENTINE
This was our 24th Valentine’s Day together! To be honest, we are not really into the hype of the day but we did enjoy heading out and grabbing our favorite ice cream together. So thankful for this man and the example he has set for our children.
THE WAY TO MY HEART
For those of you who like to go dairy free, the Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake flavor from Jeni’s is the best!!! I don’t eat a lot of sugar but if I do, this is my treat of choice!
BACKLIGHT PRODUCTIONS
Words can not explain how amazing Backlight Productions is. If you are in the area, please look into their next show. I believe it’s The Sound of Music. This group allows individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities thrive on stage. It is phenomenal to see them step into their strength and perform live in front of audiences. I smiled throughout the entire production of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Maybe you know someone who could benefit from taking part in this. It’s magic and I am so inspired.
THIS MOMENT
I’m going to circle back on this because I am still processing. My son played his last hockey game for his high school varsity team. It was beyond emotional and the close of a really special chapter in our lives. These boys gathered for a moment of prayer after the game. I could not be more proud of my #9 and all that he accomplished on the ice.
WORDS OF WISDOM
Read that twice. “You’re a soul that runs on presence, connection, joy, beauty, and meaning.” So much yes to this. This is what creates the magic in our lives. It’s who we have, not what we have.

Gah! Senior year of lasts, but so many more firsts to come. I hope he felt like his high school hockey career was an absolute blast filled with friends and good memories, both on and off the ice. Hockey is special, and I hope you enjoyed the ride to this point.
