Good morning! Definitely easing into the week after flying back from California last night. We were in Orange County with Tennessee friends for their son’s wedding. It gave us a chance to not only celebrate with all of our friends, but a chance to visit with my sister and our lifelong besties. I woke up this morning feeling overjoyed with gratitude. I am so thankful for the beautiful friendships God has blessed us with. Here is a peek at what our week looked like.
A WARM WELCOME

We are very lucky to be able to stay with my sister in San Clemente when we visit. She built her home from the ground up and is unbelievably talented. Our dear friends surprised us with this welcome bag. If you are throwing a wedding anytime soon, this was so well done. There were two beach towels (we used them), his and her favorite candies, snacks, waters and a “just in case” bag with items like sunscreen and pain reliever. All so thoughtful and beautifully executed.
GORGEOUS REHEARSAL DINNER

The details of the rehearsal dinner were incredible. I couldn’t get over the flowers and the thoughtful touches. This was the seating chart . . .so impactful as a backdrop.

My dear friend, Paula, who hosted the dinner, arranged these flowers with a friend of hers. Are you kidding? And the flowers were from Trader Joes’s! So stunning.
LUNCH WITH A VIEW

One of the days we stuck around my sister’s house for lunch and Ryan grabbed us In-N-Out. Despite having it here in TN we still think of it as a CA treat. It always hits the spot.
DREAMY HAPPY HOUR

Ryan and I snuck in a few hours to ourselves to celebrate our anniversary (he was under the weather last week). Splashes Bar at the Surf & Sand Hotel is unreal. You can’t get any closer to the ocean and the crashing waves. And it is such a small world because we ended up sitting next to a really nice couple who had also moved to TN. Turns out we were in the hockey world together. Crazy how paths seem to cross anywhere you go.
A FAVORITE SPOT

The Ritz Carlton is a special place for us. I have so many memories of learning to boogie board with my dad on that beach. Ryan and I make it a point to pop in every time we are back.
OUTFIT LATELY

I’ve been wearing all of the vests lately. Whether with jeans or with shorts, it’s just an easy summer look and nice and cool for the warm weather. And I carried this purse the entire time (it’s such a good one). My pinstripe blue vest is from here.
MONTAGE HOTEL

Riley spent all of her days on the sand (my beach baby) so we were able to sneak in a walk at The Montage hotel. Treasure Island has always been her favorite beach (and mine). You just can’t beat the beauty of this coastline.
We were also able to meet up with our CA besties. We have been friends for 27 years. It was so fun to have all of our kids back together. We have traveled together since they were babies so definitely deep roots.
THE WEDDING

We are still on cloud 9 from the amount of fun we had at the wedding. We never left the dance floor and enjoyed every minute with our friends. It was a gorgeous ceremony and reception. After buying a couple of dresses, I went with this one and loved it (true to size).

My friend, Paula, looked stunning. The mother-son dance was to Kenny Loggins, “House at Pooh Corner.” It was so touching.

The florals throughout the wedding were incredible. And I loved that the bridesmaids all wore a different color (all one of these colors).
GREAT TRAVEL SHOES

These sneakers were great. I wore them for both travel days and for any walks we did. Love them and the come in so many colors. The best part is that they are under $40.
PIECES ON SALE

I love these chairs. The rope detail is so chic. In case you missed it, I shared a post with some pieces my sister and I have and love. This console is gorgeous and on sale. It looks high end in person (my sister swapped the hardware). You can see the full post here.
IMMEDIATELY ORDERED

My sister has the most gorgeous home and every evening the lamps turn on by themselves. It creates such a warm and welcoming glow in the house. No overhead lights. . . just the well place lamps. She uses these for timers and they are so easy to program. I immediately ordered them for our house. I can’t wait for golden hour when the lamps will all turn on. Game changer.
OCEAN BREEZE TO TN TREES

And just like that we are back. It’s always so special to be back to visit friends and family and it feels wonderful to be home. Moving slowly over here but with such gratitude. Today will be well spent unpacking, doing laundry, and grocery shopping. Have great Monday, my friend.
