Preppy Style for Spring

February 25, 2016 by Courtney 11 Comments

How is your week going? I am still receiving emails about my Thoughts on Being Busy post and that makes me so happy. It really has awakened me to how much we are all craving a bit less clutter as far as our time is concerned. If you are able to steal a way a moment in the day to relax and be still (even for ten minutes) I highly recommend the Relaxation Radio station on Pandora. I can’t get enough of it. Let me know if you listen to it, too. In style news, I was really excited when Mod Cloth reached out to me to check out their new nautical line. It’s packed with preppy style for spring and I can’t wait to show you.

I paired a really pretty anchor blouse with dark jeans and mint green loafers. Yep. Mint green loafers. I am slightly obsessed with them. Did I mention they have fringe, too. I also love that Mod Cloth is a California based company and offers current and cute styles for all figure types.

The top is a really flattering cut and is a great transition piece for Spring. You could pair it with a cute blazer or cardigan. It’s one of those blouses that when you wear it people comment on how cute it is. And it’s perfectly preppy!

So here is the deal. When I was young my very favorite pair of shoes ever were mint green. These bring back such memories of those shoes. I was so worried that when they came they wouldn’t be comfortable. Total opposite. I slipped them on and the feel awesome. Have worn them twice now (all day long) and they feel great.

Mint green loafers! I could stare at them all day. The are extremely comfortable. And I am very impressed with the quality of them. They do run true to size.

The print on this blouse is just so feminine and fun. And I love the pleats down the center of the blouse. I am wearing a small for reference. I appreciate that Mod Cloth has an awesome sizing chart to work with. I also love the collar on this top.

One of each is what I really would love. Holy cow. Such great preppy looks for Spring and those coats are fantastic. And the gold shoes. GOOD!! This dress is just too darling. I absolutely love the cut and the brass buttons on it. It comes in many different colors, too.

Sweet Nautical Looks

I also spotted some really cute home decor finds. Especially if you like the beachy vibe. I can picture these in the beach house of one of my friends. Really unique and cute pieces.

Nautical Home Finds

And this may be the cutest garland I have ever seen. I can picture it hung above a bed with this as an accent pillow. Too cute.

One last look at these mint beauties. Comfortable and cute. Great combo. Loved sharing all of these fun finds with you.

Can you believe it’s already Thursday? Where does the time go. I am hoping to track down someone to paint my daughter’s ceiling. Painting it a beautiful tangerine color a few years ago seemed like a brilliant idea. Now that we want it white again it seems far less of a brilliant idea. Oh, dear. Wish me luck. I don’t even know what color our ceilings are. This ought to be good.

Enjoy your day, all. See you back here tomorrow.

Finally a store that handles dresses for those of us who haven’t seen a size 4 in 50 years – thank you, Mod Cloth! 🙂

    Courtney,
This post really makes me ready for spring. We are planning our spring break and I really have spring fever. I love those mint shoes. The color is perfect. Even though they are mint I feel like they would go with a lot of different outfits.

That blouse is darling on you Courtney. I love the pleat down the front. I am a sucker for pleats. So fun with the mint loafers! Pretty spot where you had your photos taken.

Oh wow, those shoes are AMAZE!!! I so love mint green and loafers and the fringe, oh my!!!
I hope that they go on sale soon!!!
And I love the blouse! I am nursing our baby and it is so hard to find cute button up tops or maybe it’s just because I never get out to any stores lol!!

I remember seeing Mod Cloth a while back and I had a few dresses in my cart but never pulled the trigger.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful finds!!

I listen to my Vince Girardi Pandora station every night when I put my boys to bed. It’s real jazz, many songs from the Peanuts, and a terrific way to create calm.
