Good morning. Happy to be on the mend from a cold that hung on for dear life. It’s nice to have my energy back. Our girl is home for one more day so we will enjoy every second of it. Saying goodbye never gets easier. Woke up to temps in the 40s so it’s nice to curl up with a cozy blanket and do a little Saturday Shopping. Thanks for being here.
A GREAT RUG – ON SALE

Our ivory rug in this space is now on sale. We LOVE it. It’s especially great for a rental or high traffic area. Someone spilled something hot pink on it and it came up no problem. It’s been wonderful. The throw blanket is another favorite purchase. The bed can be found here.
*I used AI to place a Christmas tree in this room . . . just over her trying to convince Ryan that every space needs a tree 😉 You can check availability for a holiday stay on 30A. We can’t wait to be there during this time of year. It’s truly the best.
CLASSIC GINGHAM

I’m loving this gingham blouse (on sale for $22). The feminine ruffle detail is so pretty. It looks more like an expensive Tuckernuck top than Amazon. There are many colors available but I do love the brown for fall. Wearing these jeans constantly. So good.

Remember when I sent my entire Amazon order to my daughter’s dorm room? She kept the sweater (it looked so cute on her) but I asked her to bring my purse home. I LOVE IT!!! It’s such a good one for fall. Love the chocolate brown suede and how it looks with fall outfits. I’ve carried it all week.

When we went to visit Riley for a game day, we met for dinner and she walked in wearing this sweater. This is the one I ordered for myself but it went to her. She rocked it so it will stay with her until Thanksgiving break – then it’s my turn. It looks far less frumpy in real life (the sleeves don’t cover the hands. . .such and odd photo of it).
WEARING DAILY

Still wearing my gold pedometer every day. It counts steps without being connected to EMF and apps. It’s been wonderful. Just don’t get it wet. You can’t beat the under $40 price tag.
CLASSIC LOOK

This is a good one!! Fair Isle is big right now and they run the price gamut. This one is Amazon and adorable.

cable knit | brown stripes | sleeveless sweater | ivory stripes
One of each please. I always gravitate towards these neutral pieces. Especially as we head into fall and winter. Something timeless about a winter white.
HOLIDAY GLAM

I shared this blazer last week and I’m still pining over it. It’s beautiful in person (ivory and not gray). It would be so cute with a silk midi skirt or with denim like this. Just so versatile.

Riley and I went shopping this past week and we picked these up for her. So cute!!! She will need them for her first winter in South Bend, IN.

Teen girl gift idea!! We also bought these and they are DARLING on. This shape is so on trend right now. These are a great under $40 gift idea.

This adorable set is on Riley’s wishlist. So cute!!! Top found here. Bottoms here. (both on sale)
NORDSTROM FINDS

This Farm Rio dress caught my eye for Thanksgiving. A beautiful dress.

I am a sucker for a good sweater dress and this one is so pretty.

Love how unique this dress is. Great with a long cardigan.

This style of dress is so on trend right now. Love that you can wear the slip dress alone or pair with a different blazer or sweater, too.
ANTHRO

This dress has fantastic reviews. Darling for the holiday season.

I love everything about this look. Really cute with boots!
BUCKET BAGS

I’ve been loving this bucket bag. A great option if you need a small neutral handbag. I get so many compliments on this.

This is another option and it’s beautiful. Love the gold detail on this.

Oh, hello darling handbag. This is so good! It comes in a handful of colors and is under $70.

I can’t believe how much I love this vacuum/mop. Why on Earth did I wait so long? Ryan and I clean our home and the floors have always been the bane of my existence. Using more of a traditional mop killed my back. Plus it was such a long process of swiffering, vacuuming and then mopping. This does all of it at once and it’s a dream. I was able to do our first floor on one charge (only refilled the water tank once) and it took maybe 15 minutes. DREAM!! The price right now is fantastic. When you use the coupon it’s now $179!!
*Pro tip: After you run the self cleaning mechanism, take the main parts out and rinse and let air dry. This keeps it from having any odors and works great.
GUESS WHO’S BACK

So happy to have this runner back in action. I spilled an entire jar of pasta sauce on our previous one . . .it did not survive that mishap so I ordered a new one. It’s a great price and a beautiful neutral rug. It’s crazy how much it adds to the space. I also appreciate that it is 2’6″ x 8′. So many of them are 2′ feet wide and the extra few inches makes a huge difference.
A BEAUTIFUL TREE

We were just talking about our favorite trees and this one came up. We have had it for over ten years now! That’s crazy. Not one problem with it and it’s gorgeous. We bough the Silverado Slim back when we had a tight living room spot for it. In this home we have alternated having it in the living room or family room. If you are wanting to invest in a tree you will not have to replace, I highly recommend this one. And now you can customize it based on height and lighting preferences.

Here is a peek at it in our family room a few years back. Looks so realistic and is a piece of cake to put together. You can see more of Christmas decor favorites here.
GATHERINGS

If you are hosting Thanksgiving this year, this is a beautiful tablecloth. The colors are soft and it just feels like fall.

And looking towards Christmas time. . . this is a classic tablecloth that will never go out of style.
ON MY HEART
By the way, I stand by the fact that you don’t need new Christmas decor every year. There is something so magical about taking out the same decor year after year and looking forward to it. It’s tradition. I tend to stick to wreaths, trees, and garland (that’s where I invest). I used those things over and over. Plus our family ornaments and special decor we’ve had forever. Ribbon and/or fabric are a great way to bring in a different color scheme if you are wanting to get a new look. Solid ribbon or plaid can really add so much. But there’s no need to get caught up in overhauling your decor or needlessly spending.
Some people are just starting out in a new home or apartment. Others have moved and are looking for ways to decorate new spaces. I will share things that catch my eye and items I think are beautiful, but know that none of it brings the joy like time with family and just being with people you love. And there’s nothing like the old, falling apart decorations that have been passed down from year to year. That’s the good stuff.
*If you missed it, I shared a little bit about being a multi-tasker in this post. Love all of your comments. So good.
Make it a great weekend with family and friends. See you back here on Monday.
Courtney, What a wonderful post. Thank you! I agree wholeheartedly with you with respect to keeping holiday decor and not buying new every year. Has always felt cold to me. Best part of decorating is when we pull out an ornament and reminisce about it. Thank you for always being a place of simplicity and genuineness. I know I’m not alone when I say it is refreshing!
Thank you, Maureen. I so appreciate these kind words. And I am with you. We LOVE pulling out the ornaments each and year and talking about the memories they bring up. I have such fond memories of doing that with my parents, too. I hope my children continue that tradition with their own families one day. Have a wonderful weekend.
I may be the only one having this problem but the hot links in your posts, for the most part, won’t pop up. I’ve gone to the shop page for info but am having trouble finding what I’m looking for, specifically the gold pedometer. I’ve tried the links on my iPhone and iPad. It’s been happening for a few weeks now. Just thought I’d throw this out there in case it’s more than just me.
Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear this. And I really appreciate you telling me. I’m testing on my end and they seem to be working but clearly there is an issue. I ‘ll try and dive deeper. I will email you the link. Have a great weekend.
I didn’t know new Christmas decor every year was a thing…lol! Like you mentioned, ribbons and textiles are an easy refresh, and that’s good enough for me. I’m too sentimental to start fresh every year!
I grew up in a house that had the same decorations every year. My mom would move them around the house to see them in a new way. So that’s what I do now. There are a couple of things that need replacing, but we don’t do new, unless we need to. And if you happen to find some pretty and simple style stocking holders in a good price point, please let me know! 😉
