Fall in Southern California is a bit of an enigma! While our nights are very cool, our days are still so warm. The challenge becomes how to dress without looking like it’s the middle of summer. That’s when I let the accessories do the trick. Sharing some fun pattern play today and ways to add fall to your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
Pattern PLAY
Stripes and plaid have been a favorite for some time. The trick is just making sure your stripes are small and your plaid is large. This inexpensive scarf is such a great piece for Fall. It looks great with pretty much any top and is a nice combination of colors.
Tying the shirt adds a bit of edge but you can also wear it out or tucked in. It runs large so be aware. At only $19 it’s a great addition. I am wearing an XS. You know I love this purse. Perfect size and lightweight to begin with which is always key. It also has a small zippered pouch inside and I appreciate the magnetic closure.

CHIC ACCESSORIES
Such fun accessories for Fall. I have had that reversible plaid scarf in the larger size for years. I LOVE that it’s available in this style. I also have had requests for tying a blanket scarf so I will create a short video to show you how I tie those soon. I just lost my favorite $12 aviator glasses so I am considering these cute round ones. The black handbag also caught my eye because of that chic strap. I’ve noticed designers are starting to use straps to make a statement. I think someone should design a purse and have interchangeable straps. Anyone?!

Here is another fun way to accessorize the striped shirt. I’ve paired it with a fun statement necklace and leopard belt. Because I am not getting any younger, I am now wearing reading glasses while blogging. Although my daughter claims I look like an old lady with them on. Lovely. This check scarf is also really classic and cute.

What are you up to today? I am looking forward to a fun meeting with a couple of other local bloggers and then time with my mom. Thank you to all of you who could relate to yesterday’s post and left a comment. Loved hearing your memories.

Cute look. I swear we Southern Californians have weather amnesia every year and assume October will be cool, when it’s what, 90 degrees today? Ha.

I waited a bit too long to order this cute shirt at Nordstrom’s…it’s gone in almost all sizes. Does Nordstrom’s restock items often or am I completely out of luck? Thanks
