Good morning! I think it’s been years since I didn’t pop in on Saturday. The week got away from me and before I knew it, Sunday had arrived. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We hosted friends on Friday night and then enjoyed a neighborhood party followed by softball and brunch in San Clemente on Sunday. And it actually rained here in Southern California so it truly felt like fall. Here is our Monday Morning Wrap-Up.
AROUND THE HOUSE
A bit blurry from the iPhone but wanted to share our new rug in the kitchen. It’s such a steal! On sale for $52 and it adds a fun vintage feel to the room. It’s also really soft underfoot. More of our kitchen can be seen here.
I added just a few fall touches to the living room. This room is far from done, but we are enjoy hanging out and reading in here quite a bit. The artwork makes me smile and is such a bright addition to the room. Our Liam sofa is from Old Bones Co. and customizable. You can see more of the design plan here.
AROUND TOWN
On Sunday morning we watched our daughter’s softball game and I was so proud of how she pitched. This is her first year playing and her bravery is blowing me away. And thanks to an amazing reader, she wore a mask on the field! I honestly love hearing from my readers who share their life experiences with me. This parenting gig takes a village and learning from one another makes us all that much more effective at our most important job.
Post game we enjoyed brunch at H.H. Cotton’s. The rain was coming down and it felt like a crisp fall day. It’s decorated with reclaimed wood and a bit of an industrial vibe. But I love that when you walk in there is a gallery wall of black and white photos from the local area. Cute idea to steal for your own home. I did a five ways to decorate with gallery walls post that you may want to check out if you are thinking of hanging one in your home.
It’s a great local spot where you can watch the Sunday football games and enjoy a yummy brunch. The brisket breakfast tacos are legit! So delicious.
STYLE NEWS
This top (under pre-order) arrived on Friday and I wore it all weekend long. I am seriously head over heels for how soft it is. The cold shoulder cut adds a touch of femininity to the camo print. I am wearing a small.
Sunday ended on a very lazy note and I might regret not prepping more for the week. I was tapped out and laundry and cleaning seemed way too difficult of a task to tackle. Do you ever just toss up your hands and say forget it? Felt good at the time, but it wasn’t so brilliant when my son couldn’t find matching socks this morning. Back at it, I suppose.
Hope you have a really productive Monday!

This top is cute. I haven’t ventured into the cold-shoulder trend yet, but I think this casual top is the perfect way to dip my toe in the water. Can you please link it? Your post reads like you meant to…
Thank you!

Love your kitchen rug, looks great! I threw my hands up for a FEW days last week and just totally vegged out and this week is going to be a doozy because of it! But, I usually work best under pressure so hopefully it all works out. 🙂 Have a great week!

Courtney, how high are the ceilings in your kitchen?
Courtney says
They are 10′ feet high. Hope that helps.
Have a great day

Courtney, I realized I missed your Monday post that explains the rug. The link does not work. It may be sold out. Can you tell me the maker and/or the name. Thank you!! I found a similar rug but it is blue/grey.
