Good morning and happy Labor Day. Are you able to relax today or still working hard? We are a mix of both over here but thankful to have some time to exhale and unwind. We’ve had an intense week so a little R & R to recharge is wonderful. Sharing snippets of life lately with our Monday Morning Wrap Up.
BEAUTIFUL DAY

Writing today’s post from this very spot. The humidity has lifted and there is a glorious breeze in the air. It feels like a gift from the heavens. Not sure how long this pretty weather will last but I will enjoy every second of it.
MAHJONG WITH FRIENDS

Spent some time with friends this week playing Mahjong. Do you play? It’s so much fun and I adore the quality time with my girls. Many of you saw this photo on stories and asked about my mat. Unfortunately it’s no longer sold. It was a collaboration with Tigre de Tartán. You can see their Mahjong collection here.
TERRAIN

After playing we did a little bit of shopping. Terrain just opened in Franklin and it’s a beautiful store. It features all things garden and I wanted one of everything. If you are in the area, be sure to check it out at the Factory.
BACK AT IT

I haven’t been as consistent with my workouts due to travel but I am back at it. If you are creating a good workout routine (I try to lift 3-4 days a week) my advice is not to veer too much from your schedule. Even if you fit in ten minutes it’s better than skipping and struggling to get back into it. Lifting weights and walking consistently has been transformative for me. And I don’t use anything fancy. A set of lighter dumbbells along with an adjustable pair is all you need.
LIVE MUSIC WE LOVE

One of the reasons we love living here is because the live music talent is incredible. Culinary Dropout is always a good spot if you want a fun atmosphere paired with great live music. If you ever get the chance to hear Lauren Gottshall perform, take it. She is phenomenal.
STILL PROCESSING

Oh my stars. I have no words. I finished Theo of Golden early this morning and I am still processing. Without question, one of my favorite books of all time. I cried so hard. So many beautiful lessons in treating others with love and kindness. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, I highly recommend it.
COMFORT FOOD

I did quite a bit of baking this past weekend, including biscuits. The trick to get them nice and fluffy is to fold the dough on itself multiple times and never twist the biscuit cutter. Simply press down once and pull back up. I use this 3″ one.
HIGH LOW VERSION

Have you been seeing these lace tops? This Boden version is stunning but pricey. I found this one and you can’t beat the price (now $33).
DARLING SWEATSHIRT

I picked up this cutie pie sweatshirt. Love the bow! I am wearing a small which fits but I think if I had to do it again, I would go up one size.
BANANA BREAD FAVORITE

We love banana bread around here. I have been using this recipe for years. It’s very easy and never fails. Your house will smell incredible. Plus it’s a great way to use up the bananas that are now overripe.
GO IRISH!

Football season is here!!! We are so excited to cheer on the Irish this year. And I always break out the shamrocks my mom made years ago. Do you have a favorite college team? There is just something about fall and football Saturdays that feels so good.

In case you missed it, I shared some really great pieces in Saturday Shopping this week. So many darling things for fall are starting to catch my eye.
I highly recommend listening to the audio version even though you’ve read the book. It’s even better! The narration just makes the characters come alive. One of the best books I’ve ever read (or listened to) also!!!
