There is something about the smell of freshly baked banana bread. The entire house smells so delicious. I loved making this for the kids when they got home from school and it’s also one of my favorite things to bake, wrap up and take to a neighbor when they need a little joy. It’s very simple to make and comes out perfect every time. Tuck this away for when you need a little slice of love.

That golden top is from the little bit of sugar I sprinkle over the top before baking. So yummy!

Enjoy a piece warmed up with a bit of butter on top. So good any time of the day!
Optional: I often add chocolate chips to the batter before baking.

I like to take this wrapped in parchment paper and a bow as a hostess gift. Always nice for the hosts to have something yummy to eat the next morning.
You have been very kind caring for your readers when their children have left for college. I hope you’re being cared for, too. All the best, Marybeth
Have you ever tried Julia’s Banana Bread recipe based on the a recipe from a roadside stand on Maui that makes and sells them when you drive around the back side of the on a narrow road along the cliffs of Maui. Beautiful drive but a little scary! If you google it you can find it online. It make 2 loaves.
BTW I love your blog!!
Oh I definitely want to try that. It sounds delicious, and I have never heard of it before. Thanks!
