Small Change, Big Impact

February 13, 2026 by Courtney Leave a Comment

Good morning. Today I wanted to talk about a really small change that has made a tremendous impact when it comes to my fitness journey. At the onset of the year, I chose consistency as my focus. Any time I am faced with a lack of motivation to follow through, I immediately think of that word and things shift for me. But there is something else that has had even a bigger impact on my being consistent. After six straight weeks of working out, I can honestly say that I could not have done it alone.

While I have always been active, this past year I really focussed on walking, nutrition, mindfulness, balancing blood sugar and moving my body. For the past couple of years I would do the Fit with Coco workouts, but I was far from consistent. When the new year rolled around I decided I owed it to myself to chase strong and see results. I committed to the 4 week transformation challenge and shared a photo on my Instastory. It just so happened that a reader said she was beginning the program as well. We were both two days late in joining but determined to work hard. What I didn’t realize is that we would become each other’s accountability partners. Each time we finished a workout (no matter how busy our day was) we would message each other. That simple act of saying, “I did it!” was so empowering. We encourage one another and for me, it was exactly what I needed to stay dialed in.

Even when I was on vacation, I completed my workouts. I want to feel strong and know that I have to be consistent to see results, but it’s also because I did not want to say, “Um. . . hi. . . I skipped my workout today.” It seems like such a small thing but if you are looking for a way to stay on track, I highly suggest having an accountability partner. It’s been a game changer for me and I am so thankful for my workout buddy, Karen.

The beautiful thing is that I am feeling so much stronger already. I notice a huge difference in my core, I am building muscle and I have lost 1 1/2 inches off my waist. And I look forward to moving my body and showing up for myself.

AT HOME WORKOUTS

  • love and have these dumbells
  • yoga mat
  • ankle weights
  • a pretty set of weights
  • love these leggings
  • foldable bench

I don’t have a fancy home gym. I show up in my basement guest room with a mat, a bench, and weights up to 20 lbs right now. My plan is to get back to going to our local gym where I can lift heavier but this is what my body needs right now. I love the strength training combined with pilates and feel so good after every workout.

If you are also on a fitness journey and need a little nudge, message a friend – or even an Instagram friend and give each other that encouragement each day. You will be shocked at how that tiny thing can create such a huge impact.
