Winter Style

We managed to have one of our children sleep in this morning! Glorious. Although I have been reminded by sweet readers as well as my own sister (who has her girls home from college) that one day they will sleep until noon and I will be pacing waiting for them to get up! So maybe I need to embrace my early risers. I have one last look to show you for 2015 and it’s one of my favorites. I just happened to stumble upon this pretty wine colored sleeveless coat and it’s a great addition to my winter style wardrobe.

This coat is so so soft and the color is so pretty. It ties around the waist or can be worn open. I paired it with the two toned faux leather leggings ($38) and my new soft sweater $94 $29 for a recent date night. And if you are local, The Salt Creek Grille is one of our favorite spots. We have a history dating back to our rehearsal dinner there and we highly recommend sitting in the bar area or by the fireplace to listen to live music and enjoy during the holiday season. It’s such a great place to go.

The Salt Creek Grille  is right down the road from the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel which is known for it’s amazing gingerbread exhibit each holiday season. This year the theme was Star Wars and it’s always so impressive. A fun place to take the kids to just see that or to tour the pretty grounds before or after dinner.

I wore this coat over a long-sleeve dress to church and also with this sweater and distressed denim to shop with a friend. I have received so many compliments on it. And while it was once close to $200, it is now down to $70. I noticed that they only have petite sizes now, but I think that would actually work on most unless you are extremely tall. Because it is sleeveless, you don’t have to worry about sleeve length which is normally why I can’t wear petite.

The cute black bag has a darling tassel on it and holds a ton. It also has a chic lining inside. These leggings are really comfortable because the only have the faux leather in front. Because of that, they don’t feel funky behind your knees. So comfy. And really cute dressed down with booties and plaid shirts. Also cute with a casual oversized sweater.

The coat has a really nice weight to it and I am so happy to have this piece that goes with so many things.

Hard to believe 2015 is really nearing an end. I love sharing ideas for entertaining, fashion, and gatherings with you on a weekly basis. Even more, I love all of the sweet feedback, emails, and comments. I love my readers and feel so lucky to have this creative outlet in my life.
